Alson Jeffrey is a #2 WR and was (all right) when he had to step into the #1 WR roll. He isn't an upgrade over Marshall. Furthermore there is something you should seriously think about. We now have two #2 WR's and a rookie as our receiving core... Hodor.

2500 yards in two seasons is a #2 WR? They have treatments available for brain cancer, you know.

You can't seriously think BM is still a Pro Bowl caliber WR. Stop living in the past. He is an aging/slowing, injury prone, over paid, smart mouth cancer at this stage. Glad he is gone and his money used elsewhere.

The Jets will contend with the Pats next year. They are big time improved. Marshal will really help that team and its quarterback. The Bears, on the other hand, are worse than they were last year. They cannot possibly be better with the moves they made. THey bring in a bunch of marginal free agents and blow their first round pick on a skinny one trick pony for a horseshit quarterback who depended on the guy they gave away for nothing. **** Pace.

I'm sure White being the highest rated player on their board had nothing to do with drafting him.

Jesus, this is like dealing with the Calvin Pryor instead of Kyle Fuller fucktards all over again.
So if they still have Marshall, do they take white, even at bpa? Or do they go Beasley? Could they have packaged Marshall with the pick to get something more in return? Do the jets still take Williams if they don't have Marshall? Yeah, many more variables than you seem to realize. Again, I don't dislike the player picked, I don't like the methods used to get there.

Sounds like a fanboy sentiment.

When your best players are on the wrong side of 30, expensive, and the team blows, ship them the **** out asap.

If we keep them all and everything falls into place, we can go 8-8, and those 30+ players would decline even further for 2016. Would that scenario please you?
It has nothing to do with being a fan boy. It does how ever have something to do with watching how franchises who consistently win build their teams... It doesn't matter how old , how young , how smart, how tall a player is. All that matters is that you keep your best players until you have a proven upgrade for them. This is how you get better. you don't trade away a top 5 WR and hope a rookie can replace him. What happens if White is a total bust ? Jeffrey was very mediocre when he had to step in for Marshall... And he is the best WR on this team right now.

maybe the whole was created cause there was a problem with a qb that threw to many stupid passes instead of going threw his progression. now cutler has to choose the open wr instead of bm

The problem is that Cutler cannot go through progressions. He always takes the easy way out. In the meantime his offensive line sucks and Pace hasn't done shit to help the run game let alone pass protection. **** Pace.

Man, this post is just all anger... Jets will not contend with pats, they might not even contend with Buf or miami. They have the worst QB in that entire Division and its not even close. If jets finish 3rd in that div i would be surprised. And the bears, they will be better than last year and to say that they picked up 2nd rate guys in FA is laughable.. they picked solid need players to start changing their scheme. We lost one guy, a guy who really didnt do much last season and seems to be heading in the wrong direction... White one trick pony, ok... i guess we all have to wait and see on that.. why dont we just let this draft play out and see what happens?

Jeffrey was a number two guy behind a guy who ALWAYS drew double coverage. Jeffrey also drops a lot of passes, cannot even begin to block like Marshall and when they double team him, we are going to see exactly how much a number one guy he is. Royal? Hilarious! White, a one trick pony. As a group I'd say the Bears receivers are NFL average. Before they let Marshal go, they were above average. In the meantime, the rest of the damn team hasn't improved a bit.

BM is far from a top-5 WR, FWIW. Anyway, how did you arrive at such a conclusion about how teams win? How about examples?

Patriots are the best franchise in the NFL and they very clearly do NOT subscribe to that model. Seattle? Not so much either, show me the light.

I'm loving Pace so far, each and every move (more or less). I can see why you do not approve of him:

1. you are a fan of BM
2. you believe Pace hasn't done anything that will help us win incremental games in 2015

Understood. Thankfully, Pace knows 2015 is a write-off, as 2016 likely is, and he's attempting to build a platform for a successful dynasty. 30+ yr old and overpriced skill players do not fit into that model. Pace may or may not be money, time will tell, but i am stoked with the initial steps in purging the old and retooling.

You obviously don't pay much attention to GB and the Pats...

I can't believe you said the pats clearly don't subscribe to that model because that is exactly the model they subscribe to ! It's why they are always replacing player after player after player and almost always are upgrading the position in the process. They don't gamble, they pick the sure thing and let the halfwits gamble.

And as a side note, don't put words in my mouth. I'm not a fan of Marshall or Cutler but I'm not dumb enough to let my drunken emotions get in the way of reality and common sense like the majority of Bear fans.

They let their best interior lineman and best receiver that they ever had go away and got nothing in return. Now they draft a one year limited career reciever who only lines up on the right side of the field and whose route inventory is one of the weakest in the field. Brilliant move, Pace. In the meantime, your offensive line still sucks and now you won;t be able to stop the run on the other side of the ball.

Oh yeah...BTW, you still have that all time worst slug as your quarterback. You are truly a piece of shit GM. BTW..... Cameron Erving just got drafted by Cleveland while youve got some second rate "upgrade" at center. I don;t blame Forte and Bennett for not showing up. Rest up boys, you two will be shipped out of town soon with any luck on your part:(

Oh damn, the draft is only 1 round now? I must have missed that announcement.

The Jets are fucking idiots, and in not just saying that. Their defense is gonna be awesome, but have they not learned anything the last 5 years!? Their offense will suck and their division will eat them up.

It's kind of like STL drafting Donald and signing Fairly, it's not helping their offense hence limiting their potential.

No, teams who are consistently good don't keep players until they have declined to the point of not being productive. They draft talented players, knowing they will play. They trade sooner rather than later.
