I like the pick. He's a 6'2, 215 pound guy that can run 4.3, can catch, doesn't drop many passes, and gets YAC. Supposedly can catch in traffic. Those don't grow on trees. Like others, I (of course) want to see us get some help for defense, but I'm also a proponent of the best player available model. If he impacts the Bears like AJ Green impacts the Bengals or Julio Jones impacts the Falcons, then the pick will have been worth it.

If he doesn't pan out, then it will be a bummer like Chris Williams, Carimi, and McClellin. So I'm knocking on wood and hoping for the best. There are many good signs. I'm just glad we didn't take anyone that wasn't thought of to be top 10-caliber.

I don't think he's as good as Jones or Green. He seems more like a slightly taller and slower Sammy Watkins to me, which isn't a bad thing I suppose.

He's not Jones or Green and he could end up being better than either. White could end up being HOF or pedestrian. He strikes me as a dynamic guy who is very coachable. I can see his upside like most of the talking heads. He's going to play whether the pass is coming or not. You can see his pride on film. I like the pick and don't really see a better option without giving up multiple picks to NJ.

If you can stand the First Take douche bags, here is a good interview with K White. Well spoken and confident.

Watched this tape and then watched how jacked up Pace was over drafting him. I was slightly skeptical of White...safe to say I am now a fan. Love his character.

I don't understand this criticism that he lines up on the right side more than the left. Why is this a criticism?

You do realize he called Cutler..."the man in this city"

It's not to late to change your mind on White...lol

Apparently he couldn't help it anyway. That's the way the coach used him. Apparently it's the same way that particular coach used numerous other top WR's. He doesn't move his WR's around.

It's not a criticism but I don't see it as a strength either.

A few posters here have used that as a reason why it is a bad pick.

I read it and heard it via a couple of sources. Its not a big deal but it is not a strength. The more significant factor to me is that this guy has always been split wide and hasn't run a lot of different routes. He also wasn't recruited out of high school. Why? He went to JUCO and then to WV who ran a wide open gimmick sort of offense. There certainly were a lot of other receivers available in later rounds who had his measureables and came and competed against better opponents. I think the guy is a wild card.

Who are those players?

What does it matter that he wasn't recruited out of high school?

Did it ever occur to you that maybe the reason he didn't run a lot of routes in his offense at WVU was because of the QBs?

In another thread, you said that Pace got beaten twice last night.....please explain how.

Just heard the Butkus INTRO. I love the guy. My former boss went to high school with Dick and was his roommate at Ilinois. Was even his best man when he got married. I remember Dick from his CVS days when he scrimmaged against us(Mendel) and RAN OVER my buddy Rich Rhoma. We never let Rich hear the end of it. He had cleat marks on his chest coming off of the field:)

And here is another thing, there are a lot of posters here complaining that if we never traded BMarsh that the Jets would have taken White. How do you figure? There is nothing to suggest that they still wouldn't have taken Williams anyway without getting Marshall. Hub was with Bernstein today, and he said that EVERY NFL TEAM, had Leonard Williams in their top 4 players in the draft.

maybe I mis-spoke. What I wanted was an OT with that pick and he could have gotten two pretty good ones even if the fucking Redskins stole my guy Scherff.

Yeah, it does concern me that the guy wasn't recruited out of high school. Yeah, it bothers me that he didn't play much his junior year. It bothers me that he has had one great year in a college program that plays against less than top teams.

You mean like Alabama? Or maybe you mean Oklahoma? Or Baylor? Or TCU? Perhaps Texas A&M is that lesser competition.

IF they don't GIVE MARSHALL AWAY, they don't need a receiver do they? They still need an offensive tackle and I think a center. There wer at least four top notch C/Ts drafted in the first round that they NEEDED and who will start immediately in the NFL. Now they've got a one year wonder.
