Paul Kennedy ‏ @PK9

Corey Crawford finishes the regular-season with an 8-1-2 record, 1.85 GAA and .921 SV% (232-of-252) over his final 11 appearances.

Not too bad Corey.

Stole this one from Jaeckel:

Going into the game today: Hawk GAA for the season: 2.83, 23rd in the league. Since the trade deadline: 2.47, 8th in the league.

Hawks had no shutouts on the year. So now people saying that Crawford should be traded.

I completely disagree. Just look at his game today. When he's locked in, he's good.

The thing the Hawks really need to work on is figuring out how to make him locked in during most if not all of the games he plays in the regular season. He can be an adequate goalie if they figure this out.

PS. Ray Emery is not the answer. Neither is Salak or any of the guys we currently have.

Limit chances and play smart in front of him.

That's what they've been doing since adding to the defensive depth at the deadline and it's worked well.

Also, just recently (the last 4 or 5 games), Crawdad has been playing the puck with much more frequency than he ever had before. He's certainly no Brodeur, Turco or Smith, but it's a clear improvement/advancement in his game and it shows growing confidence.

Crawford has been playing good enough to keep the Hawks competitive. That's all he needs to do.
