I just want to know where all the Hossa haters went.

29 goals, 47 assists, for 76 points

OPS: 7.4
DPS: 2.1

One of the strongest puck possesion players in the NHL, and his two way play is just insane.

I was thinking the same thing. He is one of the few examples of a guy brought in on a huge free agent deal and a lot of fanfare that has delivered.

Saying Hoss doesn't do much is like saying Peppers doesn't do much on the Bears. Maybe the individual stats don't wow game to game, but they do make a difference on and off the score sheet.

Hossa is probably the best player on the hawks this season. Without him we may not be in a playoff spot

That line of Hossa-Kane-Brunette has been on fire for the last month.

Wonder what's gonna happen to the lines when Toews gets back, because Sharp-Kruger-Stalberg has been equally lethal. Stalberg, in particular, the guy is playing with more confidence than I've ever seen.

Not sure anyone hates Hossa? And besides, it was his first time cracking over 60+ points since he's been here.

:rolling: Hoss & Kane have carried that line.

Don't be ridiculous.

Amazing how that happened the first full season he played for the Hawks...

Bingo.

First year he's avoided the injury bug. Probably would've cracked 70 if he'd played a full 82 in those other years.

I hate his contract not the player himself.

His contract or cap hit?

Hossa has a great cap hit, and quite frankly as fans that is all we should really care about. It will be interesting to see how it plays out in the future, but right now it is looking like an absolutely great move. Personally, I think it will be fine in the future as well.

I would think Hossa, Kane and Sharp would be the best player on many other NHL teams. Toews is obviously included in that, but I think it's amazing that the Blackhawks can be so deep, and yet afford 4 all-star forwards.

being the 33 and the type of player he is, regression will always be a factor especially now with where he is at as far as age. he has had his fair share of injuries and that doesnt help his cause in the future. he is a great player for the hawks right now, but the chances of him repeating those numbers or beating those numbers the rest of his contract are very slim.

Cap continues to go up and that contract continues to look better and better. Obviously everyone realizes that regression usually happens as a player ages, but who knows what $5mil will get you in 5 years...but there is a pretty good chance it might not be a Hossa.
