Carcillo in, JVR out? Can anybody tell me why they refuse to put Carcillo on the checking line and let JVR stay in? Carcillo and JVR are both leaps and bounds better than Betts or Powe.

Word today is that JVR was out because it was obvious the stage was too big for him at this point in his career. People saying the same things out east?

Haven't listened to 610 at all today. Makes sense though. Seems the same for Kane and Toews though.

The puck was passing at that exact moment. If you're in a hit motion and time it right it won't be called. Also, if not clearly trying to stop the player in his tracks with total disregard for the puck, it's interference. That's why Carter was going for the hit, too.

Thanks for that - I couldn't see it in the gif at all. But considering the brevity of the clip - that wasn't surprising.

Hah.

Kane, Toews, and for that matter, Keith and Seabrook have no experience on a stage as big as this.

I was just trying to find an excuse for why they are so horrible in the Finals so far.

Good call.

And I think the reason for Toews and Kane's troubles is sitting in the Philly locker room, wearing #20. He's playing some great shutdown hockey right now.

That is when you know you have a good team. When you're elite players aren't playing up to their caliber, yet you're still finding a way to win games. :bizarro:

Kane and Toews were terrible in the WCF last year.

I believe that the main focus of the flyers has been that line. It could be a combo of things, I just think philly is playing well against that line and doing things right against our top line. the focus and energy for the flyers has been line one and that is why you are seeing our other lines score.

also you cant compare van to kane and toews.

Yep, the Flyers are focusing too much on line 1, which is where our depth comes in and you see guys like Brouwer and Eager come to life

Everyone starts talking Pronger... Big Ben and Duncs will have vicious hits tonight. I think these next two will overshadow the physicality of Vancouver series easily. Hawks need to start the way they started Monday, with intensity. The third period pressed the Hawks to their heels. Luckily the wall stood tall.

Being a make or break game on Philly's end tonight will ignite that ever growing fire under their asses. Definitely could see some stupid penalties, hopefully on one end. Judging by the press conferences over the past 12 hours, the Hawks are prepared and Coach Q has them focused on this MUST WIN game! Go Hawks!
