Bigs don't win games in this here NBA. He is a bad fit for the offense that they are running. I don't think this is a very good idea.

Neither does jimmy butler. Talent wins in the nba and the bulls are severely lacking in that dept. cousins is a top 10 player who is still very young. You have to make the trade if you can.

Pau, niko, Doug, kings pick, 2016 1st rounder for boogie.

Cousins just might be the best center in the league. Anytime you have a chance to get a top player at his position, you get him.

Let's trade half the team for him. Then we'll suck and we can get a guard to replace Rose!

You acquire the star players and build around them. You don't have many opportunities to acquire a top 10 player. Building around jimmy, cousins, and portis is a lot easier than building around what we currently have or could realistically acquire in free agency.

Oh sure. I'm just saying if we "overpay" we can not only build around a Butler/Cousins/Portis core, but then also have another young draft pick to mix in there.

But again, when does GarPax ever make a big trade? We're more than likely stuck with what we got.

No doubt. We would still need another 2nd/3rd tier free agent signing as well as to hit on our next draft pick. It would be really nice if snell could start playing more like the last game too.

As far as garpax goes, I think they're going all in for cousins. If they don't get him it won't be for a lack of trying. Boston and Miami both have really good pieces. We won't be able to match Boston's draft picks. Also Miami could offer up whiteside and Winslow.

I actually don't doubt GarPax's efforts. They just never seem to get the deal done though. The only useful trade I remember them making was for Brad Miller and John Salmons, but that's mostly because Salmons was red hot that season. He fell off after that. I guess trading for Niko was a useful trade too. But that's pretty much it. But hey, how can you compete with a million draft picks or a couple younger players?

They traded for Asik too. Pax made a ton of trades to fix the mess that was the baby bulls as well. Recently however, we haven't been able to pull anything off. Here's something completely crazy that won't ever happen but is theoretically possible.

Trade: Derrick Rose, Taj Gibson
Receive: Joe Johnson (expiring) Jarrett Jack

Trade: Pau Gasol, Niko, Doug, Kings pick, 2016 1st
Receive: Demarcus Cousins

We would then have a TON of money to work with this off-season. Rose, Taj, Noah and Gasol would all be off the books. Go out and sign Mike Conley to a max deal and then fill out the roster with 2nd/3rd tier and vet signings.

Conley/Jack/Moore
Jimmy/?
Snell/MDJ
Portis/?
Cousins/?/Felicio

We would have enough money to also sign one of Batum, Barnes, Al Jefferson, Ryan Anderson, Ezeli, Zaza etc.

lol Rose for Joe Johnson...

Remember when Johnson could've been the missing piece to our title hopes?

Miami ain't giiving up Winslow, and Cousins going to the Heat would be awful for the Eastern Conference.

Yes I do. He would have definitely helped against Miami. Don't think we would have lost 4-1 if we had Joe during those days.

Of course Miami would give up Winslow. They would have no shot at Boogie if they didn't offer him up. Riley and Wade are in win now mode. I highly doubt he would let Winslow hold up that deal.

Joe would've been a definite game changer. Could've had a solid closing offensive group with Rose/Korver/Johnson/Deng/Noah. What could've been.

i don't think we have the pieces unless Butler is involved and im not giving up a 2 way wing player for a back to the basket center in this era...now if they want Niko/McDermott we might able to work something out

Neither are GarPax, so don't worry about that.

Well we did win big with a trade with the Kings before. Maybe we could pull it off again. Doubtful, but ya never know. Maybe Vlade is super high on Niko and really likes Gasol and his opt out. We can give them their pick back. An additional first rounder and Doug....probably not enough in the end but we have a punchers chance to get it done.
