I kind of like the idea of Germano being sort of a placeholder for Vizcaino next season, and a guy that could piggyback with him once he is ready to take a turn in the middle of next year.

Well yeah, I pretty much agree. I think he'll be a good place holder, but once someone comes around to take his spot in the rotation... he could be a good long RP guy, maybe even solid middle RP.

Germano's done, in line for the win and a quality start even if James Russell shits the bed.

Nice outing by Germano. Nothing overpowering, but a quality start and something to build on for his next time out.

I assume we'll see what happens later on, but that sounded like a TOOTBLAN if they didn't get the double play prior to the run scoring

Very nice to see Castro starting to show signs of breaking back out. Hitting .269 in the 7 games leading to this one, hit safely in 6 of those games. 3/4 with the HR today. That makes him 10/30 in his past 8 games... or an even .300 BA. 3 Walks to go with it, to give him a .394 OBP. All to go with 1 HR and 3 2B. Hopefully he keeps it going.

Also pleased to see Jackson get 2 hits, both XBH with 3B and 2B. Still had 2 Ks.

Gotta keep the patience with Jackson. Today was very encouraging. Hope he can build on that. Just gotta take baby steps. :tiptoe:

Watching it right now. Felix didn't show any signs of being tired at all in the 7th or 8th.

That was awesome! And of course my computer froze when he got the third out. It started playing again when they were jumping in the huddle. I hate computers.

Your computer :troll:ed you. Lol

Yeah it was bullshit! If it wasn't my brothers laptop I would have smashed it on the wall. I still should have.

Exactly. Showing that he's a bit more than a K machine today. He does make very good, solid contact with some power... when he makes contact. That's a good sign. Hopefully his pitch recognition improves, and we'll begin to see him adjust his swings to the faster breaking stuff much better. If he does, we could have a solid player here. Not an All Star, I don't think, but a good guy to have in the lineup and in the OF.

Today made up for last night. Germano just knows how to pitch love watching him setup hitters. I hope he sticks. Castro's homer was crushed absolutely tattooed didn't know his bat had that kind of zip. Brett Jackson was like a cheetah compared to what he looks like on tv. He should of had 2 triples I bet he could of got in at 3rd. But I didn't think he was that fast. Vitters is just getting unlikely he hit the ball hard in both games. But last night was just unreal the Astros damn near tattooed every hit. I hadn't really saw a team hit someone as hard as they did Volstad even the outs were hard hit balls. Might make the trip to Great American Ball Park Saturday for the double header depending on price. But this trip 2 chi town was pretty good overall section 201 are great seats for the price only paid $10 for em
