Career high in Ks for Germano tied after 5? Who would have thought we might be seeing the best game of the sparkling great career of Justin Germano tonight?

Ugh, that doesn't sound good. Hopefully it's something that'll go away with riding the pine for a couple of days.

The Cubs have that off day so I think Rizzo and Jackson will both benefit.

Apparently Dave Sappelt needs to be playing every game against the Astros.

Oh wow... so, Sappelt should bat against the Astros every game, but not run against them

They need to show that again because I wonder if Castro slowed down near the plate, which would have given the Astros enough time to get Sappelt before the run was recorded.

Castro probably figured it was deep enough to score but didn't realize that Sappelt was going too. Gawd.

Moreland is saying that Castro was kind of trotting to home once he got about half the way down the line. He's also saying that Sappelt ran, despite being given the hold signal.

I'm guessing Castro picked up whoever the guy was on deck who told him to ease up. I doubt either guy knew Sappelt was gonna go.

They fucked up the pickle there but I think the guy was out of the baseline. This'll be fun.

Wouldn't be surprised by that... and now this play... Maxwell gets hit by the ball, then gets tagged by Barney before reaching the bag... after running out of the baseline... and is called safe?

The ball bounced off the guy's back because he got in the way of the throw to Castro, and Barney probably got the out at 2B but the ump missed that one too. Need another replay to be sure.

I'm trying to remember...the fielder has to give way, but only if not in the act of fielding, right? Obviously Castro was in the act of fielding!

Yeah, I'm just hearing Hughes and Moreland. Moreland says that he was running on the grass in order to get in the way of Castro's throw. He was tagged by Barney before reaching the bag. Wow... Moreland said it's easily the worst call he's seen in years at the MLB level.

If he's on the grass that's got to be at least 2 or 3 feet out of the baseline. That's an automatic out.
