Woah there FirstTimer.

You sure the Cubs are going to be bad?

They have Anthony Rizzo, Darwin Barney, Ian Stewart, the great Alfonso Soriano, and the best player the Cubs have, a beast, Geovany Soto.

2012 NL Central Champs Baby! :sweep:

Seems about right on the projections. I don't think they will be any worse than last year though. Especially since we have improved. But I guess that's just my logic at work.

In what way have the cubs improved?

lineup has NO power to speak of, No speed whatsoever...fucking garbage bench.

Starting rotation sucks balls. Bullpen sucks ass. traded away our best reliever to the reds for a mediocre starter.

Yea, the cubs have improved.......in being worst than the astros

Maybe the Cubs as a whole organization from A-MLB have improved with the acquisition of prospects, and front office I'd agree.

I'm assuming he's talking about the MLB only.

I disagree if CO is thinking the MLB has improved this season.

C-Worse
1B-Worse, though Rizzo is promisinng
2B-~the same
3B-Worse
LF-Worse
CF-~the same maybe better if Jackson is all that and a bag of Fareway baked potato chips
RF-~ the same
P-Better Mahlom, Wood, and Volstad replace Zambrano and round out the rotation nicely.

The fact that the Cubs do not have Lopez/Davis/Coleman/whoever in their rotation helps this team exponentially.

Yeah we're worse at 1B and 3B, but we're also better in RF. DeJesus>Fukudome.

Rotation has depth, which means no Lopez/Davis/Coleman. That's the big one.

Well thank God those aren't important positions in todays game and the drop off from the guys last season could be very dramatic!

It could be. It could also not be. Pigs could start falling from the sky. Or they could not. A lot of things could happen.

You're really underestimating how bad our 5 spot in the rotation was last year.

And most any rational baseball observer would conclude that Ian Stewart who sucks, and Bryan Lahair/Anthony Rizzo will not come close to matching Pena and A-Rams production.

I'm not arguing that they will come close. They likely won't. I'm just saying some things that could happen. You're not acknowledging the depth that the Cubs have gained in the SP dept. and how that will affect the team.

Then how can you say the the Cubs improved from last season when they got much weaker at two of the most important positions on the team, lost their best bullpen arm, and on the flip side marginally improved in RF, and improved at the #5 SP position.

LULZ at you being a homer.

CO man, dude, bro, homie, guy, buddy, the cubs are not better at all, they are much worse then they were last year at the MLB level. I will say they are in better position on the farm teams. There is no way this team even comes close to contending. Just dig in this season and see what the future brings.
