A-Ram is not a must. He is not a clutch hitter. His defense has considerably gotten worse and worse. Do we honestly as a fan base think we can win next year? I know baseball is an any given year type of deal but honestly? It is highly unlikely we win and it would make more sense to play DJ Lemahieu or Josh Vitter even though they probabply arent ready.

Im in the mode where we need total change. We have given these vets to much time and it is time to see some energy and the "WANT" to win in Wrigley again. It wont happen with Ramirez and alot of other current Cubs

Yes.

I love when people say that we ought to get rid of Aramis Ramirez because of his defense and then two sentences later suggest playing a guy with far worse defense and no where near the bat.

I assume you are refering to Vitters because LeMahieu has a .980 FLD PCT. If you are talking of Vitters you are correct he has a worse FLD PCT but I also said I dont think he quite is ready either I would just rather see him at 3B.

What good's the bat and the stats when the Cubs are 20 under 500?

I'm surpise 2 options have not been mentioned if ARAM were to leave...

1) Trade for David Wright! Expected to be available and his contract a year is what Rami's will be. The Rockies are already said to be interested in him.

2) Trade for Chone Figgins: He was good in LA and hope he would play like that. If Z doesn't go to the Fish, a Z/Figgins base trade like MLBTR has mentioned.

Prolly 2 better options than anyone has mentioned if Ramirez were to leave.

Prospects.

He will probably cost prospects, but may be a little cheaper on more of a down year, was injured and the Mets are cutting budget.

Start the trade with Vitters and go from there. Vitters may be not a top prospect as slated, but has still potential and the Mets may like him still.

I wouldnt mind option #1. He has considerably gone down numbers wise the last 2 years but he is only 29. Its definately a consideration.

Figgns was one of my fav players but he has gone down hill. I have always clamored for the Cubs to get a speedy guy since Pierre left but Figgins is done. I would rather have half a Ramirez then Figgins.

Oh, so now fielding percentage is how we determine good vs. bad defenders... defenders who are playing at different levels. Fielding Percentage is such a bad metric. It only looks at one area of defense, errors. It doesn't take into account errors. It doesn't take into account arm strength, runners taking extra bases, etc.

I don't see why you want to see either of them at 3B, that will mean we are going to suck again.

You think Ramirez is going to make 15 and 16 million dollars a year the next two years? Interesting. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Wright isn't worth the extra 5 million/year AND the prospects.

Figgins sucks dick.
