Why not pull up a good prospect to try out :dunno:

I'd love for the Cubs being able to bring up the next Evan Longoria. The issue is that the Cubs don't have that guy in the system. Josh Vitters needs to stop being listed as a possibility at 3B. His defense is beynd terrible at this position, and earlier Vitters was actually listed as an OF for the Arizona Fall League. He is going to be a corner OF or 1B.

You make a good point there, we really need to either develop the farm system players better, draft better players in the first place, or start trading for some

I assume you are refering to Vitters because LeMahieu has a .980 FLD PCT. If you are talking of Vitters you are correct he has a worse FLD PCT but I also said I dont think he quite is ready either I would just rather see him at 3B.

Neither appeared to be ready, and both have huge flaws in their games. Vitters without huge improvements in his defensive game simply cannot handle the position at 3B (anyone else remember David Kelton). LaMahieu doesn't really have the bat for 3B, but his glove should be fine over there. Perhaps LaMahieu could develop into a Bill Mueller like bat, but that would require LaMahieu to hit for a little more power and draw a lot more walks. The internal options for the next season at 3B are bad, and the odds of them being good in even just a couple of seasons is really low.
