All you brat loving, Italian beef shovelling, jibarito guzzling Chicagoan chubs, say hello to your new non animal product eating QB1. Expect Soldier Field to expand past lightlife burgers into a full array of vegan specialties. It may do Chicago well cardiovascular wise. J Fields already making a difference in Chicago. Winner!

Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields feeling faster after switching to vegan diet

Justin Fields always loved eating macaroni and cheese and chicken tenders.

“Really just kids’ meals to be honest,” he said. “I wasn't a fancy guy.”

But those meals are now passé for Ohio State’s star quarterback as he prepares for a season that is scheduled to begin in three weeks, against Nebraska.

Months ago, Fields went mostly vegan, adopting a plant-based diet that excludes meat and dairy products. Once in a great while, he might try fish, but usually sticks with tofu salads or tofu burritos, among the variety of meals prepared by the team’s nutrition staff.

Eating kids meals at 20?! Meat wasnt the issue. Just imagine how good he'll be with a proper adult diet.

I don't know how they do it but kudos to him. I could never eat all plant based, I like animal protein. Did wonders for Tony Gonzales though.
The only thing stopping you from going plant based is that attitude. Of course you couldn't do it overnight unless your life depended on it, but if you cut down slowly over time to where it becomes normal, you can easily do it. I did, and I lost a whole lot of weight and feel a hell of a lot more energized because of it.

No - I compete on a weightlifting team and have to maintain my weight class. 300g c / 80g f / 200g P is really, really, really hard to get from all plant. Plus, like I said, I really like animal protein. It's difficult enough getting all those macros in on a 100% clean / non processed diet.

Isnt that close to what Brady does as well?
No. From what I read Brady still eats meat like Chicken, lamb, veal etc. Fields is just eating fish, vegetables and fruit

You know I started with the Meatless Monday thing, but I dropped useless weight and kept it off in part by only eating meat at dinner. It wasn't a hard sacrifice to make and there are a lot of meatless breakfast/lunch options that arent tofu based, and my body never felt like it was being denied anything.

Anyway, as long as Fields is taking care of his body, I am happy.

Tofu raises your estrogen.

Now he can afford to expand into quinoa, Chia seeds, fancy oatmeal, pea protein, worm protein, clean fish, and a whole bunch of super foods.

As long as he gets his 100g + of protein(conservative minimum).

But soy is not the smart way to do this. Treat soy like tuna, once a week.

It's hard but as long as you are not replacing it with junk you body feels better.
