Tinley, Orland, Frankfurt area would be decent too. Trains to the city, easy access to I80, I294, I57 and not far from I355 and I55. Lots of shopping, dining, and entertainment in that area as well. Mix of new and old homes and plenty of rentals. Demographics are still mostly white, fourth or fifth generation americans. Schools are decent with all the Lincoln Ways, Stag, Carl Sandburg, etc. You could even build a palace for a decent price in some parts of Frankfurt that are half developed. My sister did so a few years ago.
Mt Greenwood is older folks in bungaloes so you could get a good deal on a fixer upper from a long time owner that is passing away or moving to a nursing home. It is still pretty close to the suburbs I mentioned above so the benefits would be similar.
Yeah my brother mentioned TInley park, those just seem so far out of the city, we might as well move to New Lenox, other than I hear there isn't much in New Lenox. I like the idea of them, I just don't know that we want to be out of the city limits that far.
