Awesome..thanks guys. I'm super excited. I will for sure layer up and get hand/foot warmers. I got a sweet original Cliff Engle Ditka sweater vest to wear, hopefully it stretches enough for the final layer.
Any good spots downtown to pregame? I am staying at the Conrad and am planning on walking to the stadium. Looks pretty close.

You under the assumption that all fans are in the stands are disrespectful and act like a total classless ass. That's far from the truth for a lot of fans. But if I want to stand up during the game and cheer my team on, then I should be able to without being bitched at from someone behind me b/c "they" want to sit down. It's a fucking football game. If you want to sit down, stay at home and watch it on the tv.

Guys, 77AZ might freeze to death without our help. We need to get fucking serious! His life is in danger! People aren't being specific enough with this "layering" thing, so here's the breakdown:
Layer 1, Moisture-Wicking: You need something that's going to draw sweat away from your body. Even though it's cold, you're going to sweat. If the clothes against your body get wet, it's going to feel even colder than it is. You need stuff that's made of merino wool or synthetics. Cotton is just about the worst option.
Layer 2, Insulation: You need something to trap the heat from your body. You need stuff that's made of wool, down or fleece.
Layer 3, Weather Protection: If you're insulation layer gets wet, you're fucked. You need something waterproof.
So, here's how we attack it:
Feet: Start with sock liners. These are thin, synthetic socks that will keep your feet dry (and as a bonus, prevent blisters). On top of that, go with thick wool thicks. On top of the socks, you'll want boots. They should come up to at least mid-calf, and the lower portion should be rubber with good seals, so that they keep out the snow and slush.
Legs: Start with long johns. Again, stay away from cotton since they'll be against your body. The UA pair that HeHateMe linked to earlier are perfect. On top of that, wool or insulated pants would be ideal, but your regular pants will work. When the snow is really bad, I tuck my pants into my boots while I'm outside. It keeps the pant bottoms dry and it keeps the wind out. Where the boots and pants meet, I alternate sock liner—long johns—wool socks—pants—boots.
Torso: Any synthetic long john top will work here. After that, pile on whatever shirts you would normally wear. Over that, you need a layer of something like wool or fleece for insulation. Keep everything dry with a jacket made of gore-tex or another waterproof material (waterproof wool is fine). An insulated jacket will obviously replace the top two layers.
Hands: If you have sweaty hands, glove liners will make a big difference. If your hands tend to stay dry, skip the liners. In either case, you need heavy winter gloves that are insulated and waterproof. These hand warmers from Zippo are also useful.
Head: You need some sort of winter hat. Obviously. Make sure it covers your ears. If your jacket has a hood, use it. It will keep your hat dry. Lastly, wear a scarf and use it to cover any exposed areas on your face and neck. If you don't want to fool with a scarf, a neck gaiter will work just as well.
Now, this should run you less than $1000, and that's a small price to pay for avoiding frostbite.

I would love to stand the entire game. Hell, I'd like to pace up and down the aisle the entire game but that isn't really practical. If you stand at odd times you are an ass. Because then the guy behind you has to stand to see, then the next guy, domino effect. Either stand at appropriate times or just accept that you are being an ass. Thanks. And I don't care what you paid for your ticket. And let kids see the game. Jerk.
