Dm me if you are interested.

Is there really a super secret recipe out there? If such a thing exists I need it, my OCD demands that I have access to this classified concoction.

This is the recipe I went with:

2 lbs chicken thighs or breast
1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
2 (15oz) cans great northern beans, undrained
1 (15oz) can white corn, drained
1 (1 1/4oz) packet of taco seasoning
1 (4 1/2oz) can of chopped green chilies, undrained
1 (10 3/4oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
shredded monterey jack cheese for topping
fresh jalapeno for topping for the ones that like a little more heat

Throw everything in the slow cooker except the sour cream and cheese. Cook on low 6-8 hours and stir in the sour cream before serving.

I'm contemplating throwing in some Cream cheese with the sour cream.

i would probably just add the sour cream when serving to guard against it breaking and getting greasy.

I ended up doing 4 oz of cream cheese with about an hour left in the crock pot. Would have done the full 8 oz, but am saving half of it for another thing I'm making tonight. Then I added the sour cream right before we ate. It was good. I like my chili with a little heat so next time I'd throw in some chili power and red pepper flakes.

Misread the recipe. Nevermind.

I made a big batch of chili tonight....

My recipe is never exactly the same, but today it was:

1lb 96/4 ground beef
1lb 80/20 ground chuck
1 large onion chopped fine
3 Jalapenos
2 cans of diced tomato/w roasted garlic
2 cans of tomato soup
1 can Brooks hot chili beans
1.5 cups of macaroni noodles
Chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin

Sweat the onion and pepper in olive oil.... brown the meat in a pan and add to the pot where the veggies sweating... add the canned ingredients sans beans and 2 cans of water.... cook for 1 hr.... add beans and cook noodles separately.... add noodles and simmer for 15 mins.... serve with sharp cheddar cheese.

It is always a chili mac/w beans.... that's how my grams made it for me... that's how I make it.... idgaf if you h8 it.

Me and my wife make ours almost the same way. I love chili mac. We always just cook the pasta with everything else though.

I used to do that, but it requires you to sit there stirring it constantly or the pasta winds up stuck to the bottom.

I just cook it separately and let it simmer with the chili for a short time so I don't have to worry about stirring too much.

My last like 5-6 batches of chili I have used Jalapeno and/or Serrano peppers.

Any other good peppers in similar heat range?

I don't do crazy hot (no Habaneros) and on top of it I've been battling acid reflux.

Being captain obvious here.

Red chile, dry or fresh. You know, the pepper that defined the dish :D

Is that literally the name of the pepper?

If I say Green chili pepper there are dozens of different green chili peppers....

I got a hot sauce making kit for Christmas and I am thinking that I could put a couple drops of extract straight into a texas chili for fun and profit.
