Since we got on the topic of hot sauces and junk.

What would you all recommend I add to my Chili recipe to add a mild heat?

Something seriously mild.... I am not a big heat guy.... I have made enough batches that got too spicy, so making it too spicy is not a challenge.

I know this will be difficult for you Ghost Chili eating crazy people but try.... for me.

green bell peppers?

You know how I feel about vegetables HHM.... lol jk

How would you prepare them to go in? Just get one, cut it up in to small pieces and drop it in to cook in to the base the entire time?

It was a joke Ares. Bell peppers register as a zero on the Scoville Scale.

Use jalepenos and deseed/devein them. It's what the professional chefs do. Not good for me as like you said, I'm past Ghost and chasing down Scorpion

Oh what the...well you don't taste it at all then :dunno:

I think I might be extra sensitive to it. I think we have it in the cafe, I'll check it out.

Like I said, I make it homemade and when I visit my in-laws it's mostly homemade there as well though they do have a bottle of the valentina if needed for like french fries.

There are these little orange peppers in the grocery store. The orange color means they aren't that hot...I promise :)

My buddies peppers are almost finished, can't wait to put a tiny piece of a reaper pepper in a batch and still have my face melt off. Good times

Good Mexican food doesnt require hot sauce.

Ride your tractor across the Idaho State line at some point.

Actually, yes it does. Traditional Mexican food is very mild and hot sauces are used for spice. You are probably thinking American Mexican food or texmex.

Pablano pepper, it's a mild chili pepper. Green peppers and Bell Peppers are sweet peppers lol. Pablano will give you the flavor of chili pepper family with mild heat.

I agree, and I was joking about bell peppers. But I would recommend Poblano peppers because Pablano peppers don't exist.

I want to make a batch of Chili and eat it for dinner for a week but I am trying to stick to the Chicken and veggies for dinner thing...... WHY CANT CHILI BE A HEALTH FOOD?

Also I just told Clone, I have an old batch that has been sitting in my fridge for like 3 months sealed in a tupperware container..... not sure if I should just throw the tupperware container out or try to save it

Can we compromise? How bout ground Rib eye?

I've made chili with chuck and shoulder before. It works fine. Texas style chili is actually all based on using cubed steak rather than ground beef.

Oh and you should probably just throw out the tupperware, maybe burn it in the shrubs too just in case.

You could substitute ground or cubed bison for the beef. Bison is leaner than chicken and tastes infinitely better imo.

just throw the container out. It's not worth going through the biohazard protocol for a piece of tupperware.
