Doesn't matter, you can't justify shutting your ace pitcher down in August. It sends the wrong message to the rest of the team and fanbase.

yea the idiot portion of our fan base. and message??? ummmm the team knows they arw done.

Another dominant performance by Sale. Stinks that he got a ND, but it counters with his poor start a few back where he should have gotten the L but got the ND.

He's going to be second in the Cy Young, but there's no shame being a rung below the King

Well, I guess I'm a part of the "idiot portion," but I knew the Sox didn't have a chance before the season started. My expectations have been satisfied with the performance of Abreu and Eaton. I'm still hoping for some major trades to get done this year. Alexei, Beckham, De Aza and Viciedo need to be traded for pieces. Maybe then we can fix the bullpen and free up more money to rebuild. The future is very bright with this club. In two years we should be the class of the division.

Why shut him down? He's not injured, and he missed a month already. Don't want to risk his arm getting fatigue next year.

If what. Shutting him down now can cause more injury when his body won't be used to pitching for so many month when we need him if we are in a play off push in years to come

ummm. he has gone to the DL a few times in his short career. why put useless innings on your ace when 1) few times on DL. 2) the tmj epedemic. 3) his unorthodox delivery.

it makes zero sense to keep him pitching. especially september.

if he gets hurt in sept sox fans will be like "fire teh hahnszz and teh robinszz and KW for letting the saleszz pitch" anyone who says that they wouldnt change their tune if he did get hurt is a flat out liar.

You know what? I'm pissed. I am pissed at this organization for what they didn't do namely put together a pitching staff. If I were a position player, I'd be DISGUSTED by the management of this team. There is no fucking way that any decent evaluator of talent would think that those guys that were on this team had a chance at being successful. This is totally on Reinsdorf and company. To me, they shit all over the fans and that is unforgivable. Half of those guys were pathetic and some others weren't much better. How do they get away with this shit?

I look at this team and they were in virtually every game until they got down to the 4th and 5th starter or when they brought someone in to hold a lead late in the game. This is not excusable. It really is not.

I won't. Injuries can happen anytime in or out of the game

Pulling him from the rotation would make little sense. Sure the Sox W/L is irrelevant at this point but if you are worried about him getting hurt in his last 2-3 starts from you have a much bigger problem on your hands.

Just imagine how many more wins he'd have if he got run support or the pen didn't piss it away.

What a stud.

Now I don't want anyone reading into his last few starts. IIRC, Chris tends to test some things out when we are out of the race.

They just said on the 2nd game of the double header that Sale and Quintana are rated two of the best five left handers in all of baseball
