I understand the desire for "political correctness" and all that, but saying you can't say anything about Christmas when it's Christmas is pretty dumb regardless of what side you're on.

Heck, everyone usually gets a day off from work around Christmas, some people get multiple. If I was an atheist, I'd love Christmas time anyway.

I love that working for the state we couldn't do anything Christmas but we did get two weeks off for the holiday we couldn't mention.

Hypocrite

There's a lot of good about Christmas for non Christians.

Spending time with family, giving to others, peace and love and all that shit. I'd think anyone could get behind that.

Just leave the specifically religious bits out of it in a school setting and I don't see a big deal. I understand that might not be popular with some Christians, but in general, what Christmas means to your average person is a good thing and can be separated from the divine bits.

I wouldn't really call the thread political, it's more just outright bullshit of communities targeting religious groups, keeping them from celebrating their holidays.

your comment in and of itself is political. I don't have a horse in the Christmas/holiday race, I think people can call a day whatever the **** they like privately or publicly in a country where there is a free market, freedom of religion, and freedom of the press. I just want to see the mods be consistent about how they apply the rules to threads that get banished to bullshit and ideology forum

At my restaurant we encourage our employees to wish guests a Merry Christmas if they feel like it. If not, no big deal say Happy Holidays. In all my years here I've only had one person complain. It was a wife and husband and before they could get too far into their political correctness I stopped them with "I'm sorry you feel as if you're offended. The good thing is this is America and you don't have to dine here if you don't want to...but you will pay for what you've eaten thus far."

They never came back and good fucking riddance.

hmm... sounds like there isn't actually a problem?

I just put up my lights today instead of watching football, which made me feel productive for a Sunday. I ended up replacing all my lights with some newer technology. I got some light show LEDs and it's pretty impressive.
