You do know that American car's break down the most and die at 100k miles right?

Besides, Pickup trucks-US makes the best there-600k to 700k on a diesel engine...no prob

And I have seen Crown Vics with over 300k miles on original engines, and trannys

Yeah that's not true...like at all.

...Tapatalking

I dunno. It seems more and more common, that people think "all I need to do is put gas in it"

I flush my coolant, tranny, breaks, power steering, and differential annually. Change my oil every 5k. Both my tahoe and my crown vic run like they are new.

I have never had that problem.

Me either, my worst was 180k from an 88 Grand Am. But I also don't limit myself to the products of one country or one make. I have had 2 Honda's that failed to reach 150k. But I don't believe that Honda is a failure.

Those are pretty high end cars, arent they?

Yea, the E-class is MB's workhorse model. It's smaller than the S-class (the greatest car in the world) but bigger and more luxurious than the C-class.

The E 500 will be a little cheaper than the 550 just because it's a little older

Yeah I was kind of vague with that quote. I was agreeing with you, and saying the dude you quoted who said American cars don't last over 100k is full of shit.

My last few cars have been 2 Caddy STS and an Audi A5. I did look at the 300 Chrysler. Noticed that the fit and finish has greatly improved and think it's every bit as nice as the Caddy STS. Firmer ride and the seats are very firm. Love the interior of the 300. I would recommend the Chrysler dealer in McHenry. My wife leases a Town And Country every 3 years and we have gone there 3 times. Great guys and they always have the lowest price even though they are a small dealership. They even forgave the 1700 miles my wife was over on her lease last time.

Nice. My next car is going to be a CTS-V I think. BearsBud, if you want a luxury sedan w/ serious balls...you might want to give that one a look (depending on your price range).

Upon introduction, the CTS-V Sedan is equipped with a standard 6.2-liter, V8, 556-horsepower, supercharged engine that achieves 14-mpg in the city and 19-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional.

I'm kind of surprised you love the interior of the 300 Omelete. My neighber bought the loaded 300C a few years back and I thought the interior was craptastic plastic, and very uncomfortable. It really seemed like shit compared to my Caddy or the wife's Lincoln. Have they made that much improvement in the newer models?

Everyone is different with interiors.

Like me, I don't like bulky interior designs, loaded with wood and leather. The cheap plastic may be cheap, but it's lightweight. But I'm the opposite of most people too. After owning big muscle cars for the longest time, I'm big into lightweight, ultra-efficient cars, four bangers and the such.

But the 300 is supposed to be a luxury car, albeit with muscle if you get the hemi, so I assume the typical 300 buyer would want soft leather and lots of wood rather than plastic and half vinyl everywhere. And 300s are not known for fuel efficiency so the weight shouldn't be an issue. Do the new ones even have air controlls and vents for the back seat?

Based on my limited experience with the neighbors 300, driving and riding it in many times, I was completely unimpressed with it. I would rather buy a Caddy, Lincoln or look at foreign options, but that's just my opinion unless they've made massive improvements.

I used to like the Caddy better overall over the 300C...I have a 99 DeVille, that I covet!...But the new Cad doesnt have a V8, and they are rather small inside. Cad has a new image , and Im not crazy about it. We used Lincolns at work, and to be honest, I didnt like the styling all that much..Good car, but rather ugly. Im in a quandry!!

I looked at the Caddys. (Not the CTS-V too expensive)..No offense, but meh! I actually like the Buick LaCrosse better. Its the same platform. The CTS-V is a hot rod...Nice, but not for me..Id also like AWD

They make a 4 door CTS-V sedan for what its worth. The coupe is a 2 door, and they also make a wagon (lol at a 550 hp wagon). But they are pricey. I've looked around and found some used ones in great shape for around $40k. Granted, that is still pretty expensive...but it is a big time value in my opinion. The same equivalent performance / luxury / quality is $90k + in other comparable models. I'm not pulling the trigger anytime soon, but I definitely want one :)

Somebody mentioned Buick; if I was in the market for a new fast Americanish made car I'd start there. Luxury and muscle is Buick's thing from way back.
