I have no inside info, but Jacksonville has interviewed, or plans to interview, 8 candidates, including 2 new candidates recently announced.
The odds of Cunningham getting the job are not good.
How dare you doubt Yard Line Yoda!

Trading 2 seconds for a 40 year old QB whose contract had 35m in dead cap once it expires was a bad decision. Luckily Rodgers got injured the first year which prevented the 2024 pick from being a 1st rounder.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing because if it worked, which it could have if he didn't get hurt 4 plays into his first season, then you wouldn't be posting this right now.

I think the only reason this trade even happened is cause of Brady. If Brady wasn't such a success in Tampa, I think no one would ever give up that kind of return for a 40 year old QB. Hindsight helps I guess... but I'd maybe argue that odds were stacked very very much against that being a good idea.

Not the only reason but sure it was in these teams heads somewhat.

There's been reports from disparate sources saying that Cunningham looks like he's for the inside track. We'll see what happens though, who knows.

Maybe. I just feel like I saw a similar report two weeks ago.

I feel like this has been lingering a lot longer than I thought it would. It's almost as if they feel something is missing.
They just started interviewing this week. Ian hasn’t even had his first interview yet

This isnt complicated. IC has been rumored to be a top candidate for weeks now but the Jags hadnt actually interviewed anyone yet.

No different from the fact Allen was rumored to be the favorite for DC long before Johnson had actually interviewed anyone.

Given the holy month of Ramadan starts Feb 28, I would imagine they make a decision before then.

Okay, so he hasn't had his first interview yet. Fine, but what's the holdup? Is that truly how you treat the alleged #1 GM candidate; wait several weeks after he's eligible before bringing him in for an interview?

Maybe in my 50s I just have a lot more "cook or get away from the stove" in my disposition. Ian if you wanna bolt, then good luck! I hate to lose ya' because I suspect you might be the better talent evaluator between yourself and Poles, but enough already about this interview which has been "imminent" for an eternity in terms of the off-season calendar.

I think khan said he wants it done prior to the combine

The jags are just inept.

They didnt interview any GM candidates because they were doing a coaching search....because you cant do both at one time?

And then they didnt interview GM's because they wanted to make sure liam coen has his staff in place first.

If i'm cunningham idk if i'd even want to go there

Yeah that happens to coincide with Ramadan as combine starts Fed 27 and Ramadan is Fed 28. Have a few Muslim clients and they didnt like doing shit during Ramadan. It was finish before Ramadan or see you in a month. Khan says he is more of a non-observant Muslim but he still seems to observe Ramadan judging by social media.

NFL teams get their staff to Indi by the 23rd for the combine. You dont necessarily need the GM to be there that early but wtf is JAX waiting on here, if they keep waiting their GM won't even have met the teams medical and scouting staff already on site for it:ROFLMAO:

Anyway, idgaf how prepared or unprepared JAXs GM is, I just hope they give IC the job for those sweet comp picks.
