This is like the goobers who say ben johnson's resume is more impressive than monken, when its not.

We all saw how great trick plays work with nagy when your roster isnt full of pro bowl caliber talent
Johnson’s play calling doesn’t depend on trick plays to be successful. His trick plays works because his play calling is great. Nagy was a terrible play caller and why nothing worked with him.

Monken is great too but his offense is full of talent as well. Just like Johnson, no one knows if their skilled playcalling would work with a less talented Bears squad.

My point is that he's no more ridiculous a candidate to interview than some other guys.
Exactly my point. He is a ridiculous candidate, so why would someone claim him as a potential finalist.

To be clear I do not want Aaron Glenn as our HC.

I just don’t want more embarrassing news like Revera interviewing while we are in the middle of it. I guess that’s too much to ask.
What if they are just checking him out to see if he will come in as an assistant HC and DC? Would be a great mentor for someone like Ben Johnson.

Rivera has a great many friends with the Bears...He started his NFL coaching career here as the DC quality control coach then moved onto Philly and got his first DC stint back with the Bears and went to the SB....He said he thought he was coming back but Lovie Smith ran him out of town...

He is a Bear forever....Make sense?

Biggest selling point for me is that he's a Parcells(played for him with Jets and Cowboys) and Sean Payton disciple. Knows what a real HC looks like.

And that sounds like a reasonable argument.

How do you know he can choose any job he wants?

It's such a big question with both and could easily end up a bad hiring for either, could also end up a good one but it's jusrt nerve racking knowing how we absolutely have to get the hire right. The wrong hire can hurt in multiple ways with the obvious being that it hurts the development of Caleb.

The good thing with the Bears is even though some think we need help at other positions on offense, the starters are in place at every position besides one or 2-3 spots on the OL, and our starters are legit starters with DJ Moore and Rome Odunze at WR, Cole Kmet at TE and D.Swift at RB. If we just put our attention in free agency, the draft and trades on the trenches, specifically the OL for this discussion, then our OL could take a huge leap next year. It will take time for them to build continuity but when it hits it could change everything for this offense.

because I don’t live under a rock. If he wants the Raiders, Jaguars, or Bears the job is his. The only one he might not be able to get is the Patriots.

Bears have two dozen candidates on their list.
My translation: They don't know what they're looking for...again! If they knew, then they would bring in those types of coaches. They're 'shot gunning' it....kind of like a Mel Brooks movie with every type and style of gag, joke and slap schtick.....

I’m not ruling out Tomlin to the Bears. I could see them trading for him after they miss out on Johnson and Vrabel. I think the Steelers fans want change, will they appease the masses? Would this hire get you excited?

Conspiracy theory says they already know whom they are hiring. They can talk to anyones agent all they want...All this other stuff is eyewash

Casting a wide net to me means looking for assistants or at very least getting leads for the next staff. Gathering information/insight...

It is business...When they announce certain things means little to nothing.

I may be wrong but the Vrabel to NE seems way to convenient for only a weeks worth of business...Also all the talk of Glenn to Jets or NO...

Johnson to the Bears has been in the news cycle since Flus was fired...

Exactly! Poles said "We're going to cast a wide net. It's going to be a diverse group. There's going to be different backgrounds from offense, defense, special teams, college, pro." So, instead of concentrating on the "Big Fish" and capture it, the Bears wasting time and getting confused in the process. So Bears..
