Well, the rumor guys had this nailed first, the haters are in denial, I called it since Ben decided to go back to Detroit right after it was announced the Bears were keeping Eberflus last year - it's been a damn good day.

All that's left is @nc0gnet0 - remember, you were the first one I told in a thread that the Bears would be getting Ben Johnson in a year, and you said he wouldn't go because he respects the Lions too much.

How did that hold up?

It's a massive whatever at this point, but I love how people are questioning Eddie George's integrity regarding his interview and were criticizing the Bears by referring to the organization and not Poles and Warren for the supposed "sham" interview.

Yup. And we should have had him last year if they idiotically didnt hold onto Eberflus.

Exactly. The biggest tell in ALL of this was Ben immediately shutting down all interviews after it was learned that the Bears were retaining Matt Eberflus.

That alone signaled he was waiting for the Bears job to open up.

They won’t make the organizational moves that Ben Johnson wants to see while the Raiders already have made some and are willing to make the rest if he takes their job. Simple as. He was obviously intrigued by Chicago, but it seems pretty much done deal once Detroit’s eliminated.
Simple as!

But why? Why was he doing that? Is it Caleb? Is it the Bears - those are the answers we need.

It's a combo of Caleb (who he was in position to get if Eberflus was fired last year) and the roster.

The offensive line is ass, yes.

But we are loaded at the skill positions and have people in place who can do the same things the current players in Detroit can do.

DJ Moore will be our Amon-Ra St Brown.
Kmet is our La Porta
Rome is our Williams
Swift was with Detroit Johnson's first year.

And we have Caleb.

Ben is going to be able to drag and drop his system and take off, provided they can shore the offensive line up.
