Kmet inked a 4 year, $50M contract at the start of the season with an AAV of $12.5M. $22M Fully Guaranteed.

In terms of AAV, this put Kmet right about the 10th highest paid TE. I think the general consensus on CCS was that it was a good signing, but maybe a slight overpay for the player (IIRC) - knowing that Kmet isn't necessarily a dynamic receiving threat such as Kelce/Kittle.

I feel like he's been having a pretty solid season production wise, so with 2 games left I wanted to dig into the numbers a bit and see where he's stacking up with his peers.

Receptions:
1. Evan Engram - 98
2. TJ Hockenson - 95 (Iowa)
3. Travis Kelce - 90
4. David Njoku - 75
5. Sam LaPorta - 74 (Iowa)
6. Trey McBride - 72
7. Cole Kmet - 70

Yards:
1. George Kittle - 991 (Iowa)
2. Travis Kelce - 968
3. TJ Hockenson - 960 (Iowa)
4. Evan Engram - 824
5. Sam LaPorta - 776 (Iowa)
6. David Njoku - 748
7. Trey McBride - 743
8. Cole Kmet - 678

Touchdowns:
1. Sam LaPorta - 9 (Iowa)
2. Cole Kmet - 6
2. George Kittle - 6 (Iowa)
2. Mark Andrews - 6
2. David Njoku - 6
2. Hunter Henry - 6
3. TJ Hockenson - 5 (Iowa)

Targets:
1. TJ Hockenson - 127 (Iowa)
2. Evan Engram - 124
3. Travis Kelce - 117
4. David Njoku - 115
5. Sam LaPorta - 101 (Iowa)
6. Trey McBride - 93
7. Jake Ferguson - 90
8. George Kittle - 86 (Iowa)
9. Cole Kmet - 86

Looking at the contract Kmet signed and his production with two games to go, I'd say Poles did a pretty solid job on this one. Throw in some more targets and he's borderline top 5 in all categories. Also interesting to note - Kmet is only 24. Consider me #TeamKMET

he helped take me to my fantasy football title game...so totes worth it!

P.S. - ready for Iowa to get dogwalked in Orlando?! Or do they have 5 future NFL TE's that can help save them?

Also, he will be like 29 when his contract ends.

Very realistic he could net another large payday for himself afterwards.

Was a great deal for both sides, and will look like a steal in a couple years.

13 td's last 2 seasons with Fields.

The Chemistry is REAL. Warren/Poles would be stupid to break it up.

The one stat the rarely comes up when comparing tight ends, is blocking. Every team tracks the blocking efficiency of players including the tight ends, but that information is rarely shared. Kmet is a willing and heavily used blocker. If you watch videos of big plays on offense you will see #85 downfield kicking ass & taking names.

These are just receiving stats. He does so much more for us. Kmet is a top 5 TE overall, top 3 maybe.

13 td's last 2 seasons with Fields.

The Chemistry is REAL. Warren/Poles would be stupid to break it up.
Im curious to why you are switching sides now?

Kmet signing was always very good.

The only idiots who complained about it are morons who expect a HOF level player at every position @remydat

I said it was an overpay unless he hit certain thresholds. Thresholds he is close to hitting so I have no problem with the contract.

If I recall you were cunting because I set receiving targets you were worried he would not meet and tried to justify spending that much for blocking tight end production.

According to REMY, unless you get 800 yards and 8 TD's a year you are a useless TE.

There are like 2 TE's in the league who aren't useless to Remy

Yep here you are crying that I set 800 yards and 8 TDs as a threshold. Yet somehow you still cunting when he is at 678 yards and 6 TDs when and on track to hit the very thresholds I said he needed to and that caused all your crying.

So what are you actually cunting about? That I have higher standards than you do?

No, 33% of his TDs this year were not thrown by Fields.

Nobody is downplaying Kmet's usefulness in the blocking department. Just harder to quantify that. I suppose PFF has some metric they use and if you have that information feel free to share.

He is 33rd in run blocking and 44th in pass blocking so nothing to write home about. He was 11th and 26th last year but that seems to be more an anomaly than the norm.

Just curious, when you say 33rd and 44th, is that just out of TE's?
