hahaha, what a dope. How many players in the NFL make chump change, moron? Average salary is close to 3 mil per year and over 200 players make 10 mil or more per year.

Now, you want people to believe Bears have more faith in Kmet cause his cap hit doesn't go up in his last year and Chiefs obviously not as high on Kelce cause his does. LMAO, you are funny stupid.

Chiefs needed cap space early in the contract dumbass and Kelce will be 36 making 19.8 million so yed they may not be convinced he will still be productive at that age.

@remydat is not some dopey Kmet fanboy. Not sure how someone got that take.

Yeah I mean I didnt even want to sign him but tge contract is clearly based on them thinking he will still be productive at 28.

Hahahahahahahah. Crybaby is mad cause he looks like an idiot...........again.

That was not how the contract with Kelce was drawn up anyway. As I stated before this usually comes from restructuring and Kelce's contract was just restructured last season right before the trade deadline. Really, a 19.8 cap hit for a player of his caliber not such a big deal anyway. Excluding kickers/punters, TEs 2nd lowest paid position on average but Kelce is elite and way better and more valuable than the average TEs like Kmet. Kmet's contract can easily be restructured as well so your odd take is just more show of your complete ignorance.

Teams restructuring contracts also realize team cap space overall will only be increased in the future. Also more cause to restructure with teams that have more high end talent to pay. Right now, Bears need not worry about cap space at all. The Chiefs, the new dynasty, have to work at it to stay under the cap.

Converting salary into SB means it is allocated evenly across the remaining years which means the contract was escalating before the conversion.

And dont be stupid. We dont know if he will be the same player at 36 years old. That is the whole point dumbass. He is an older player so less likely to be worth that money. Kmet will be 28 not 36 when his contract is up.

A lot of projecting with the constant use of the dumbass thing but you didn't even know about the extension originally cause you just claimed it was the original contract he accepted. Of course converting salary to SB is going to increase the cap hit in the coming years. It's like your making my point while thinking you're not. LMAO. Oh, you're special.

Yeah, it was a contract that escalated throughout but not so much that anything could be read into it. Original contract had that final year cap hit at about only 3 mil more than his average yearly salary. It's a rather small amount that a team could reason would be more than taken care of as the team cap would be raised in the coming years. And since this year's team cap was raised by 16 mil more than last year, seemed like a real safe bet. And while you now point to the new 19.8 cap hit as a deterrent to retaining, they wouldn't actually save that total amount of the cap hit as you'd have to subtract the 2.55 mil dead cap space that comes from the restructure bonus. He will also only be 35 going into that final year of his contract which isn't at all bad for a player who has virtually no injury history at all and has been playing at an elite level year after year.

You also mentioned Engram who has a big 19.75 cap hit in the final year of his 3 year contract. But it does not mean he's an obvious target as a cap casualty cause Jags won't save that cap space or anything remotely close to it if they get rid of him cause of the big 13.5 dead cap incurred meaning they'd only save a little more than half the cap space that the Bears would if they cut Kmet in his final year. I do already know math is very hard for you and am sure that factors into your extremely odd takes on things such as this.
