"Why are manholes round?" I heard that one is fairly common.

Edit: Dammit. Clone beat me.
I hate this question. I don't care what it shows about how I solve problems.

I got a question asking how I could balance several differently weighted balls. Same concept I think.

1) Fill the 5 gallon jug up
2) Dump in in the 3 gallon. You have 2 left in the 5.
3) Dump the 3 gallon, put in the 2 from the 5.
4) Fill the 5 gallon up again, fill the 3 gallon to the top (with 2 gallons in it), getting rid of exactly one gallon in the 5
5) You now have 4 gallons in the 5

Or something like that.

lol yep that's it.

I remember when we used the concept in some math class in school, my teacher showed us that scene (just that scene though sadly).

I hate interviews in general, and I think I usually come off as disinterested. They just ask dumb **** questions that have absolutely nothing to do with the job and even less insight on how I work. I hate when they ask to give an example of a time you solved a work problem, like I catalog that shit.

Would you say you're a pretty proficient ball balancer? :troll:

Based one what I see in this thread I'm not sure how any of you have jobs.

I should sell my interview services so that you don't end up in a homeless shelter

I have 2 degrees and too much student debt. I decided I didn't want to go for a PhD but have made a pretty good career regardless, and the degrees helped me land jobs regardless of what they were in.

I am a big fan of passively searching for better paying opportunities; that way, if you're in an interview and don't feel like answering the question, you can just say

:dontcare:

Get up and leave

I haven't been on a whole lot of interviews in my life actually (its in the single digits)... But except for my first job (which was Target, who back in 2005 would pretty much hire anyone), I've never gotten an interview without the assistance of at least someone..whether it was a friend, temp agency, or recruiter.

I got the ECU job because I interviewed three times for the same job. The job I have now is because I worked with a guy that got promoted and I took his place

Do you falsify rock age data?

Nope. It is very useful. We find more economic minerals using it and America has more metal resources.
