Quade was on XM radio yesterday and told guys he doesnt see Colvin at 1B...he sees him as RF for Cubs for long time...So this means they still could go after Dunn in offseason in which i think will be mistake. Rather wait to see if Cubs can get Pujols,A-Gone, or Fielder the following year.

No chance at Pujols, take him off that list.

It's a good thing the Ricketts have an unlimited supply of money, didn't borrow millions just to buy the team and have a stadium that generates revenue like modern facilities.

BUT HE MET HIS WIFE IN DA BLEACHERS!111!!!

Whatever, I still don't see Colvin starting on a playoff team.

I still like the idea of signing Carlos Pena to a one year deal so he can build up his value.

Dunn's fielding isn't that actually. He's improved this year. he and D-Lee currently have a .993 Fielding Percentage each, and Pena a .994. Dunn has one more error than lee who has one more than Pena. However, Dunn's range is a bit smaller.

At the same time his OBP and OPS are high, despite the K's.

dunn will not be a cub next year. and lets just say there is this miracle and they do sign him, gluck fixing all the other holes this team has. it would be a bad move for the cubs, especially on a 4 year deal.

Works for me. If you don't wanna hear logic and want to live in a dream world where the Cubs payroll is going to be upwards of 200+ million over the next 5 years, then feel free to ignore me.

I agree with your logic.

Don't say it in a baiting like fashion.

I'm not, not even sure why you had to post about ignoring?

I'm saying the Cubs under Ricketts are not going to be able to keep up with the spending ways of the blank check Tribune Company. It's not feasible.

That's slightly baiting.

CNM, I think you mean "patronizing", and it wasn't really that bad. Definitely called for with the "dah here are da tings da Cubs gotta do to win: trade soriano, sign Dunn and Pujols..." type posts that have been flung around this section of the board.

It's mainly in response to people that think that Ricketts is a fan above a business man. That was a popular misconception when he bought the team that because he met his wife in the bleachers he was going to pour every bit of his money into the team... that's simply not the case nor will it ever be the case.

Dunn, Pujols and Pena will not be Cubs next year. Idk where anyone is getting that idea. There is no money for it.

This man understands. No Cliff Lee either and you'll have to buyout Zambrano if you want to get rid of him.

Cubs are the 2nd MOST MARKETABLE team in MLB...there is NO REASON they should have top 3 PAYROLL in baseball...if Ricketts doesnt spend the money then ALL CUB FANS should stop going to games......
