I'm curious what rates you guys are paying. Like bot, I have no TV, but I pay $90/month for internet (25Mbps down, 3Mbps up, 750GB cap) and home phone with 500 mins of long distance.

sounds like you are getting ripped off.

I get just internet 25 down 20 up for $45 a month, no cap. And 500 min? wtf is that?

Competition here just introduced collusion. Three options for broadband, and all deals are pretty much the same and no cheaper than before. Actually more expensive. In fact, for mobile, the three largest providers here all jack their prices at the exact same time.

I pay 60 for internet and 30 for phone. 500 mins of LD, charged .04/min for anything over. We get screwed up here big time. Even worse when it comes to mobile.

Weird. Randomly just ran into this article after my little rant:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...cable-company-if-only-they-could/?tid=rssfeed

Looks like I wasn't too far off.

There's no rage in our household anymore. I called WoW months ago and nicely told them to stick their $83.00 a month basic cable bill up their collective asses.

$83 for basic cable tv. **** that. Yep, they tried to do the bundle bargaining with me, but I've had enough of that and I told them I'm not going to keep switching my shit every year. They offered me a $15 a month cut, and I said "see ya".

The first few weeks kinda sucked, but Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus got me over it.

I haven't had cable in a long time. I just wish there was more competition for broadband ISPs.

If I could get HBO Go without being a Comcast customer I'd by one of those good over the air antennas and eject so fucking hard.

God damn I hate comcast.

I'm paying about $170 for Tv (plus HBO + plus the basic sports package so I can get redzone) and Internet. For wonderful price, I'll randomly get 75% packet loss for up to an hour at a time, and my upstream chokes the **** out whenever I try actually use it for anything (except bittorrent, which oddly works great, go fucking figure).

For one channel, you could just.... you know.

What about Dish. I had Dish and DirecTV. DirecTV was slightly better, but only SLIGHTLY for billing. As far as service, I think Directv is slightly better. Customer service, well, that's a different story. I don't think anyone is worth a damn.

I keep reading the subject title for this thread, and I'm waiting on a punchline.

ie: the 70's called, they want their hair back.

Comcast called, they want your soul returned? IDK, I can't think of a good one.
