I'm always down for trying to whip up a good meal, whether it be stovetop or grill. Anyone have some good recipes to share? With me, grilling season never ends. It can be 80 degrees or -10 and I can fire up some charcoal.

Let's hear 'em.

I'll have to dig through my archives...I'm willing to post everything *except* my pizza recipe. That one is staying in the family.

Not really a recipe per se, but I really like to bake meat in A1 marinades. Pork Loin in Garlic and Herb, Chicken in Cajun or Jerk........just put about 3/4 of the bottle into a pan sink the meat in it, and then pour the remainder over the top of the meat. Cover with foil and bake until the core temp is appropriate for the meat used. Meat comes out very tasty and moist.

1. Cut slit about ¾ depth lengthwise along beef hotdog.

2. Stuff dog with shredded cheese of your choice.

3. Wrap dog in strip of bacon from one end to the other, use a toothpick through at each end to hold bacon onto dog.

4. Deep fry at 400º for 4 minutes.

5. IMPORTANT: Remove toothpicks before putting on bun to eat.

6. Tell all of your friends how to do this.

3 bean crock pot chili

Open the following cans and dump in crockpot

1 can black beans

1 can red kidney beans

1 can pinto beans with jalapeno

2 cans tomatos with grean chilis

1 small can tomato sauce or paste

Now add

1 medium diced onion

1 medium diced green pepper

1 large shredded carrott

Brown 1 lb ground beef with 3-4 strips of bacon cut into small slivers and add to crockpot (don't drain or rinse)

Add spices

2 tspn ground garlic or 5-6 whole cloves smashed/minced

1 tspn paprika

1 tspn cumin

1 tspn cilantro

1 tspn salt

1 tspn black pepper

Chili powder to taste, I usually do about 2-3 tbspns

For spicier chili add more chilis, jalapenos, anaheim or habanero peppers or throw in some cayenne powder or red chili pepper flakes

Cook on low heat 6-7 hours or high heat 3 hours. Also works quicker on stovestop in a dutch oven type pot, slow simmer for aboot 90 minutes.

I recommend serving with rice, some tortilla chips and a cold one

Edit: for heart healthier version sub super lean ground beef, ground turkey, or tofu and reduce bacon to one strip or omit or substitute a low fat turkey kiolbasa or smoked sausage diced into 1 cm cubes. Doesn't taste as good without the bacon though.....

Do you like asparagus? Do you like bleu cheese?

Works in the oven and grill.

Grab a piece of aluminum foil and grab four stalks of asparagus. Tie a piece of bacon around the middle place in the foil and

add chopped bermuda onion on top, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle bleu cheese on top with some salt seasoned to taste. Wrap

up and do this for the number of people you are serving. Throw on grill or in oven.

Awesome side dish

I grill a lot of asparagus, usually just olive oil, salt pepper and some garlic powder, the bacon idea is genius though I'll have to try that

Do you get asper pee? I had read some time ago that it is based upon your genetic makeup. For some it is quite distinct (me) but my wife and daughter don't even notice.

That sounds freakin' good. I have a few dogs in the fridge and some turkey bacon, might have to try this soon. Do you put any condiments on it or is it best just by itself?

Ooooh, this sounds good. We have a deep fryer that's rarely used, I'll have to try this one though.

More cool deep fryer recipes please!

I make some sick jambalya, but you ain't getting that one. Haha. Made a batch and some ribs this weekend. Disappointed in the ribs, but the jambalya was the best yet. It's pretty simple actually. I do a chicken and chorizo or portugese sausage. onions, carrots, celery, green pepper, garlic, some other stuff all whipped together and then cook it for a day. Let it sit in the fridge overnight, then reheat and it's good to go. It's one of the few dishes we have that when we have left overs we eat it for days to come. I'm a big fan of slow cooking and crockpots. Stuff is always better the next day too.
