The guy with the CC got killed because he walked past the wife not knowing she was with the husband, she shot him in the back once he passed her. Had nothing to do with lack of gun training, but more to do with unaware. Guy had good/right intentions...just was not aware.

The jag off husband also had a backpack of grenades and explosives thankfully he never got to shoot off. Also, he was killed by the cops, not the wife like first thought

Right, lack of awareness. Didn't say lack of gun training. You can have all the training in shooting a weapon, all the hours in the world at the range, learning it inside and out, but that doesn't train you for that situation and in how to best handle it.

just as the cliche goes. guns dont kill people..people kill people.

it can be turned around........

guns dont stop killings......people stop killings

just being an asshole....sorry but i just hate that guns dont kill people cliche to the bone because its such simplified trash. and to make it clear once again so i dont get fucking jumped on. I am NOT anti gun ownership. just because i dont believe in that stupid cliche doesnt mean i am anti gun ownership. do i think any dick jane or harry should be permitted to own one. of course not and i dont think the strong pro gun community think that should be the case either.

but there are cases when people have stopped shooting sprees or attempted ones without a gun. that attempted mass shooting in seattle where the guy stoped the shooter with pepper spray while he was reloading is one example. there are examples out there when another individual with a gun has stopped a shooting spree. there is data out there that supports all sides of these types of argument as there often is. guess the logical thing to think is all these situations are unique and the events themselves are unique. cant take one of these events and say the same thing could have happened in the other. just doesnt work like that and this is when all data and stats fails so we are left to do nothing but generalize.

But but but pepper spray is bad for the environment... it's much more "green" to just shoot someone!!!!

watched some of his manifestos on youtube. there is an hour of my life i cant get back. par usuall all i hear is a guy paranoid and riddled in fear that the government is watching his every step. in his case they are since hes under house arrest and has a blackbox on his phone. so here is a good idea while you know you are being watched.... go on youtube and make a bunch of fucking videos create a facebook page while you are at it and give big brother everything else he needs. self serving your own fears is a great way to approach things.

which leads me to something. if you fear that the government is watching everything you do like this twat did.....one would think that they would be watching your youtube vids and facebook posts and acting on them quickly. im no psychologist but what i see in the videos is one fucked up dude pretty much playing into every stereotype of a guy thats going to crack and go out and kill some people. so either the government actually isnt wacthing you 24 hours a day as crazy ******* like this tend to believe or they are doing a really shitty job at it. this guy shouldnt have been in house arrest he should have been in a mental hospital getting help to fight through his paranoias and fears.

i could write a ten page essay on what i saw in his videos but nobody wants that. at the end of the day just going off of what i saw and how it fits into my world bubble....the guy needed some serious help and probably didnt get the proper help for whatever reasons those were. i will say this...im not a big fan of house arrests in these situations i think that alone can **** a person up even more. lots of tones in these vids where it appears that house arrest really got into this guys head. when dealing with an anti government individual its probably safe to say that leaving them alone wired up in house arrest probably isnt the best answer to the problem. thats just adding fuel to a fire.

TCD, I would guess it was your second reason: They aren't doing a very good job of it. Yes, they were probably watching this guy, just as they were 'watching' some of the 9/11 terrorists or others on 'watch' or 'no fly' lists that end up killing people.

Beside the fact that I don't trust our government, what I really fear is their incompetence.

Bust out your tinfoil hats for the following.....

Maybe they were watching him closely. Maybe they knew what he was gonna do. Maybe they saw what he was buying.

And maybe they let it happen.

Well it sure wouldn't be beneath them to do something like that, nor would it be the first time.

Agreed. Hey, here's an experiment that doesn't cost us anything: Next time this happens, don't show photos of the bad guys, don't say their name, don't go on and on about the event for several days, don't interview family member and neighbors in the media to see if you can try to piece together some sort of rationale. Let the authorities handle that type of shit.

Gotta fill those 24 hours with something. Ratings are more important. And that's what the cost would be if they were to change, ratings.

So **** them and the ratings. NEWS is supposed to be about information (although I know it has been about ratings, readership, listenership since the beginning of time)

So easy to say. I know what it's supposed to be, that's just not the way it will probably ever be in our lifetimes.
