Brouwer's dad was sick but he's still alive I think.

Other than that, I don't recall any other player's dad dying or being sick.

He's gone so belly up this post season.....I'll bet his agent is looking for a way out.
I don't think the Hawks are gonna have to pony up much if they decide they want to keep him.

This guy has gotten no ice time... been sat when he shouldn't be sat... he is going to another team for sure... and he is going to have a 20+ goal season for some other team...

I don't think I'd put him on the "core" list, but a $2.3 million cap hit for what Michael Frolik has brought to this team, especially on the PK, is starting to look damn damn good in today's FA market. Considering that Raffi Torres just signed a deal worth $2 million annually, I'll take Fro's cap hit all day.

He's been money this postseason, again, too.

He's signed thru next season before he becomes an RFA. I wouldn't be so quick to trade him, as long as the cap situation becomes relatively healthy with other moves. PK specialists are not easy to find. He and Kruger have been two of the game's best in that situation this year.

Well, he's scored 20 once in his career, so its not totally impossible. He's gotten liitle playoff time for a reason. He's not a playoff performer, never has been and probably never will be. Lot's of speed, a defensive liability and poor hands will get you some time in the regular season but not much more than a sporatic 4th line spot in the playoffs. In other words, he doesn't get PT in the playoffs for a reason....lifetime playoff stats 31 games, 1 goal & 5 assists. There are goons in the league that put up better numbers than that. The guy's got tons of untapped potential but there comes a time when you say...the way he is, is all he's ever gonna be. The end of this season is when that time comes in Chicago.

He's getting to be a favorite of mine. He completely adapted his game to go from a top 6 guy to a PKer and 4th line defender. I love his hustle. Plus it was a nice little bonus when the Hawks had some injuries and he filled in on the top 6 where he did a decent job as well. His slot still might be a bit high but if the Hawks look at the total body of his work...its money well invested.

I always considered the Core

Toews
Kane
Hossa
Sharp
Keith
Seabs

i agree. this is what i considered to be the core.

I hope we retain Bickell though...he's made himself some money, but I hope to retain him. I see this as another Dustin Byfuglien situation

I don't.

Buff is, when he feels like playing, one of the most dominating players in the league. Bickell had a great playoffs while surrounded by high end players.

If Buff hit Chara, it would have taken him a few seconds to get up.

Lets not put Bickell on Buffs level.

You're inflating Buff by a big degree... Because you know he wasn't surrounded by even more high end players on the forward core on Chicago.

At D in Atl//Wnp he's had one half a season of anything close to great play or dominance on an all around effort. Beyond it he's been a spotty and inconsistent player just as he was on the past and Bickells been.

Really? He is surrounded by shit in the Peg and is pretty much their best player. Two 50 point seasons on D back to back once traded isn't nothing to sneeze at. Let me know when Bickell hits that plateau as a forward.
