Just watched A Bronx Tale then came here, all I could think about is what a huge help he'd be to our team if he just had a few pins screwed in differently.

Really the question starting this thread was pretty facetious. As a Hawk I really see no future for him but stranger things have happened. Obviously someone or something needs to put everything he's got into perspective cause from a regular everyday persons perspective its pathetic.

Possibly get his shot at the big rink in 2013-14 at a lower salary...not worth the 1.1m now or soon!

1st off Bobby D's directorial debute and a good flick. 2nd I think Beach can be a very good NHL'er still. Might involve Riddlin but I think he could fill a very good role and this he's a very talented physical player. Needs the right coach to get a hold of him imo.

Good lord... he's 21 years old. Lets reserve judgement until he plays with real teammates and not on horrible Rockford.

Stu, you had him penciled in as an NHL player last year and this year he has no hope of making the team again. If you can't handle the fact you have to put work into the AHL then he clearly just doesn't get it. He's not Kane or Toews, and when we were calling younger guys up it said even more what the Hawks think about him.

He's talented, but his mentality is backwards.

I didn't realize his career was over? Sure he hasn't lived up to potential yet in the AHL, but I haven't seen anyone in management put a fork in him yet like they did other players. Only time will tell I guess.

I mean the guy has had about ten of his peers called up be it for whatever reasons, management hasn't felt that he could contribute to the team. The guy was pick #11 overall in 08, he's not a D-man or a goalie either. Not to mention a physical goal scoring wing would be a huge addition to our team.

But his contract matters too...

Guys that were called up all made less than 1mil - his cap hit is over that I believe.

We have more leeway with the cap this year (right?).

Yeah....but with a plethora of wingers, he'll have to jump a bunch

He's young, and I think if needed (which means a few injuries, so I hope not)...I think he'd have a chance to get called up this year.

But probably next year he'll get his best shot

I just think saying that at this point his career needs to be "salvaged" is a bit harsh and unfair. If this were 2-3 seasons from now then I would think that "salvaging his career" was a fair statement.

At this stage it still has to be "is he going to live up to his potential at the NHL level?".

Yea I know it is, I just put it in that way to get some life into these boards, and it worked for the most part. I need this place to get active again, last year of school and I am more than amped for the season to start.

I've never seen Beach play. Only a few youtubes where he looked like a wise cracking punching bag. Obviously has some talent with the number of goals he scored last year of jrs. But some people are just short changed in the mental dept and so far that's the way it looks with Beach.
