Could Beach's Career Be Salvaged?

I don't know how anyone, ANYONE, could be dense enough not to join an NHL team during the playoffs.

If he did DECLINE, are you guys that would know, sure he didn't have something else going on in his life? Family issues? etc...

I just don't buy that a guy would flat out decline an invitation to the black aces because he "didn't feel like it" then lie publicly with all of the social media outlets and such that are around today.

Something doesn't add up either way...

Either way I don't really care nor would I write him off. I do think he was a head case when drafted and could still very well be a head case. I do have a hard time believing a team would give up so quickly on such a draft choice. Look how long they gave Barker.

As far as him and the Black Aces, don't shoot the messenger. The only three that really know are Stan, Kyle and probably his agent.

Either way, like I said, you can't give up on someone after his first year of pro hockey. This is what we all wanted, to have the depth. This isn't 2005 where anyone you drafted immediately made the team. It works for some players, but most players need to be brought up slowly. Look at Detroit, they bring their prospects up slowly, and have a never ending supply of talented youth. We are there now, with Smith, Morin, Beach, Lalonde, Olsen, Saad, Hayes.....bring them up slowly, and bring them in when they are ready. Really, what's the rush?

There is no rush. But there is also no hockey which leads to endless pondering of how the Hawks could be made better, Beach having the attitude of Toews and making the team while dropping 28 goals and wreaking havoc physically is just one of my many daydreams.

My thoughts exactly. How could one decline the offer? And I do not agree with those who think Beach being left off the Rookie tournament is a good decision, there are older guys than him and at this point he needs all the experience he can get.

It all depends on where he is actually at instead of the tourney. He's got more talent than the other kids his age that are there, and I believe a much better shot of making it to the big boy league, so for them to be there and get some work in and be seen it's a good thing, for Beach, it could be just running through the motions. If he's here instead down at Johnny's with the rest of the boys trying to prepare this offseason like a NHL guy would be, then I have no problem with him not being there. If he's off somewhere on his own not preparing for the season, then it's a big question mark. I'll give the benefit of the doubt thinking that he's not at the tourney because he's working on doing the things that NHLers do to prepare for a season.

This! Unfortunately/Fortunately he will be getting another year in Rockford wether he is ready for the NHL or not.
