I feel like each years hopslam gets progressively less hoppy and more mellow since the first year I tried it which was 2011. Still exceptionally good as always, just doesn't seem like a yearly release anymore.
I'm also getting tired of liquor stores selling them by the bottle because they feel like most people won't spend $18 for a 6 pack.

I agree, although this years seems a little better. Is it maybe the same hops but the quality isn't what it was, or palate changing? The 1st time I had it, was an amazing explosion of hops. I do know the brewer that created Hopslam left Bells a few years ago, could have something to do with it.

It's probably not as much. Either way it's gotten progressively more mellow and less hoppy as the years go on.

I really wouldn't pay that much for a sixer to be honest. Actually I saw it at a little convenience store on Thursday and I opted to go for a Schlitz instead.

Schlitz is probably my favorite macro. It's not as easy to find as say Tecate though, and I like that one too. I had Half Acre's Senita that night as well - good, but on par with so many other IPAs. I also had the Great Divide Claymore which is a wee heavy. I was surprised it wasn't overly sweet like most wee heavies. Probably one of the better ones from the style, but I'm not a big fan of the style. Traquair House is the only wee heavy that I've ever enjoyed quite a lot.

It was tasty. And I didn't pay any attention to the brew date either.

Enjoyed some Delirium Nocturnum last night. Pink elephant on the label is appropriate. 8.5% ETOH by volume.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  2. Villanova Wildcats
My parents took me and the girlfriend out for my birthday over the weekend. Gustavus Sr hates all things craft beer, so I made them take me to Tribe's Ale House in Tinley. Of the 6 beers I had with dinner I had a Neopolitan, can't remember the name of the brewery but it was made in Michigan. Was awful.
