I will hold off on my "WOOOO HOOO" until after details come out.

I'm glad they got something done though.

This, so happy to have him, but we won't know the impact until the price comes out.

Rumor has it 8M for 3 years, or 2.67M per....

I'll take it.

I think the thought process was to NOT have goalie arbitration clusterfuckery this offseason.

Besides, all we have to do is NOT sign Stalberg and problem should take care of itself.

I can live with that caphit, although hoped it would have been slightly lower, around $2.2m. Good thing that the goalie position is set for the next 3 years at least and hopefully Crawford will only improve.

Was thinking around the $2.2-$2.5M range originally, but with the season he had, $2.6M is definitely a great value. I think he's a franchise goalie, and I'm glad that he didn't ask for very much in the process.... Its definitely a great deal!

Now I'm concerned about the entire backup situation, since I'm very certain we're not signing Turco again...

I think Salak should get a shot at the backup position. He had a great season in the SEL and did good work when he played in the AHL. If the Hawks are to coax him over they need to let him know he has a shot at the backup position.

I think this is a good deal. I was thinking about 2.5 would be the best deal possible. I don't mind it. Hopefully Corey will keep getting better. I think he will.

They were avoiding arbitration. Good number.

Stan also said he expects Salak, who came in the frolik deal to be playing somewhere in NA next season.

Also said there was plenty of money to round off the team well before Sept. IE Frolik, Campoli.

Said some players would not be recieving offers and others will be resigned.

With his numbers from last year, added to his age, arbitration surely would have given him similar numbers to Niemi. So the Hawks saved a headache and probably 2-400k.

Kid just more than tripled his salary, good for him, been a long time coming. How he has to earn it, let's hope they can get a better PK.

I like the Idea of Salak, but I don't want to have to overpay to get him here, Ideally they would get another Turco type deal somewhere. We got like just over 5 mil coming off the books in dead cap space for next year, this shoudl be fun to see what scooter does.

Good work Stan. Now get Campoli, Frolik, and Brouwer re-signed. Hendry, Dowell, Stalberg meh.... lets see what else can be plugged in for them. I'd actually like to see Kopecky back too, but don't think they can afford him.
