What the hell... go back to your corner, no don't know nothing! NO ONE! BOOOOOO BOOOOO

seen any good hats lately?

Ironically I just picked out a hat for you last week ****** bag. Now I just need to have someone sign it. Should only take another year or so.

Salak will be paid a rookie contract or similar so I don't think you'll have to worry about him being over paid.

Stan on Frolik and Campoli..

"We’re going to work on them concurrently ... and prepare for draft."

Oh, and **** off my corner is fucking great. No one can tell me I have Kanes balls on my face, talk shit behind my back instead to my face, or anything because I'm in the FUCKING CORNER!!!! Love it!

Haha, I'm sure you are waiting to find someone cleaning out their locker for the last time! haha

That was my next question, I was looking at NHL numbers and didn't seem him there so I assumed he doesn't have a NHL contract yet? And it will be a cheap two-way rookie contract correct? What does those run? 800k like Crawford?

These are the only two left I really care about. Brouwer would be nice for a good price, but I think he has the type of game that can be replaced easily.

Trust me we do to! hahah I keeed I keeed. We I'm glad you didn't take your ball and go totally home, I feels strangely comfortable to know that you are lurking in the corners. Also helps that I'm picturing you with a dunce cap on.

I'm sure it will be a two way contract. No way to they sign him and put on the big club right off the bat. Just like Niemi.

When he said "we won't make some offers" I thought Pisani LOL I doubt Stalberg is here come Sept either.

Eh, when someone worth it does it, then I'll roll with my ball.

Pisani gone, not a bad dude, just no skin off my sack to keep him, same with Stalberg, which is a shame because when he first started here I was really excited about him. I bet in the right situation he could still be something. I think Campoli and Frolik are the ones that really showed they earned another shot at a full year here. That brings me to the question, with them both being RFA, do you hard ball them and go low and match anyone else, or do you just get the deal done?

I know it's not really news and has already been stated, but it looks like the trib is confirming the 8 mil number.

I think both would want to stay. Campoli was having a horrible year in Ottawa and Frolik has or poured it on towards the end but was slow to start/end the season. I think they try to work out decent contracts with decent numbers. That said we need some grit on D so I'm guessing it's Hjarlmarsson they use as trade bait. Unless God steps in and finds a deal for Campbell.

Hawks should be favored for the Cup again next year, and honestly had they won that game 7 could/should be still playing for the Cup this year.

Congrats Corey!

Well considering Niemi also signed a contract for the next three years and Antti is going to be getting 3.8 mill per season i'd say this is a great deal. hilarious that the Hawks are still paying Huet 5.6 mill a season to play in europe.

2.6 per year is deserving. Not Cory's fault other contracts on this team were miss managed. He doesn't deserve to take anything less than 2.6 and he doesn't deserve anything more.

It's a perfect contract.

Congrats Cory and it's a good day for the Hawks.

I would not be so quick to dismiss Stalberg. As for Frolik, he does not have arbitration rights. Anything above 1.8 is a gift(See Setoguchi). As for Campoli, a multi year deal takes him into UFA years which ups his cap hit.

Here's the #'s with the Crawford deal. I'm pretty sure that since the current CBA is coming to the last year, bonus money is figured into the cap.

FORWARDS

Patrick Kane ($6.300m) / Jonathan Toews ($6.300m) / Marian Hossa ($5.275m)

Patrick Sharp ($3.900m) / Dave Bolland ($3.375m) / Marcus Kruger ($0.900m)

Ben Smith ($0.812m) / Bryan Bickell ($0.541m)

DEFENSEMEN

Brian Campbell ($7.142m) / Brent Seabrook ($5.800m)

Duncan Keith ($5.538m) / Niklas Hjalmarsson ($3.500m)

Nick Leddy ($1.116m) / John Scott ($0.512m)

GOALTENDERS

Corey Crawford ($2.666m)

CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)

Not bad... Add maybe up close to $3.5M for both Frolik and Campoli ($1.75M is my guesstimate for both) and we can still go shopping. I like these results.

Why is 2.6 perfect for Crawford but 2.75 way to much for Niemi?

I'm feeling the same way.

What gritty UFAs are up this year that won't break the bank?

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I would be quick to dismiss Stalberg...If Skille didn't work for us why would Stalberg?

Besdies, a young FWD that can skate like the wind (and that's about it) packaged with Hammer could possibly bring back some very servicable center depth our way.

Isn't that what he won in arbitration?

Yes that is what the Blackhawks walked away from. He signed a 5 year 16 million contract with the Sharks this season.

Yes, in arbitration but the Blackhawks never offered that to him.

Prior to arbitration he was offered $2.375M for three years and his agent told him to walk

away, that he was worth much more and that he was going to get it for him. HaHa He ended up

signing a one year $1M contract with the Sharks. In the end it appears he did very well with

the resigning this year but there were times over the last season where it was not looking too

good for him. Personally, I am glad to see him getting paid quite handsomely although the

Sharks (including Niemi) have shit the bed for the first two games of the WCF.
