Didn't Washington try to a trade up last year before the draft and Chicago wanted to much swap spots? There was reports on that last if I remember correctly I'm not 100% sure.

It's very possible that both Caleb and Jayden become top tier QB's and there was no "wrong choice" between the two. Hell, their entire QB draft class could possibly turn out to be one of the best in the history of the NFL. Maye and Nix have been solid and Penix looks legit in limited playing time.

I prefer to look at it glass half full rather than glass half empty.

This is like saying a team was taking any qb outside of andrew luck after 1 year.

Or even if trev is not doing great now, saying a team would have taken another qb in that class over trevor. Was never happening.

Every team was drafting the guy deemed "generational" in caleb, especially the hometown team who had his own college coach on the staff as OC

These teams and GM's go for the best traits and college resume, not reading a crystal ball to predict the future. Caleb clearly was that by a wide margin

If the Bears drafted Daniels over Williams then right now i'm on CCS reading a thread titled "Bears should've drafted Williams over Daniels" after Williams takes Wash to the NFC title game and Daniels wins 5 games with the Bears.

I think it’s more likely that if the Bears had a redo. They would’ve fired Matt Eberflus last year, hired Ben Johnson or John Harbaugh and still drafted Caleb.

Absolute foolishness and its pretty disappointing reading that from Courtney whos usually pretty good. If anyone thinks Daniels somehow leads this shitshow of a team to a better record nevermind the playoffs im pretty sure they also believe the earth is flat.

Its all revisionist history.

No team was taking anyone other than Caleb Williams at 1.1

The better history review is why did certain teams like Trubisky/Watson over Mahomes when none were considered slam dunk 1st pick in the draft type qb's.
Full field pocket passer. Had to do with translating to a Pro O. Watson was dinged for 1/2 field reads and Mahomes for other top QB prospects from his system not working out. What may become the winningest HC ever, sat Mahomes for a year for a reason.

This year WA brought a lot of the very experienced JD's college O to the pros. It will take another couple years to rank the pecking order of all the QBs in last years draft.

Idk what the article actually says but I'm sure if it has Cronin saying anything about daniels>Caleb that it's either a misquote or taken out of context because just in the last couple weeks she was asked about this topic and rolled her eyes about how ridiculous it is to claim daniels is better than Caleb already

That ones pretty easy, if you watch mahomes tape he was making a lot of stupid decisions and throws in college. The arm talent was clear, but he also came from an air raid scheme which was known for having great NCAA talent and giant failures in the pro level.

Basically was just dumb GM Group think based on prior decades of history. A couple teams with coaches who know QB talent(Saints,Chiefs, etc) saw him and figured it was worth trying to coach all the bad out of him as the level of arm talent was exceptional.

This also led to busts(Like Trey Lance and Zach Wilson) because then GM's figured it was worth taking risks for the "next mahomes"

The real headscratcher was mitch over watson, as watson was a proven top QB for multiple years at the highest level of NCAA football.
KC traded up to select Mahomes because they knew he just needed coaching to excel and Reid was the right guy

Not down-talking Daniels at all---I think he's great.

But honestly, how well does he do if he's on this Bears team last year?
this is the same yada yada swe heard with Mahomes

And it’s true.

Dont understand how this guy lived for 90 years and doesnt see the bears have absolutely zero idea how to develop a QB

Hopefully this time ben johnson can do it, but they've failed every single time they have had a young QB and a lot of it has to do with factors outside of the QB.

Look at the packers, they even make a bust like malik willis look serviceable, because that organization knows what its doing at the position.

There is certainly a very good chance mahomes isnt who he is if he was drafted here because he had a lot of red flags in his tape. Andy is a master offensive mind and had been for decades prior to mahomes.

Well unfortunately there are a lot of dumb people in the American society.

I do believe Ben Johnson is the best chance the Bears have at developing a QB. Don’t think they have ever had an offensive mind like him before.

Packers have just been a great organization. Something I hope the Bears can become moving forward.

This could be said about so many QBs that the Bears have passed on in the past. It’s the truth and always will be until things turn around.

Caleb is actually pretty filled out for a QB, he's only 6'1 but plays at about 215-220.

Daniels is probably the skinniest QB in the entire NFL. He's 6'4 and plays at like 205. Every time i see a closeup of his arms its like freaking toothpicks

I'm curious to see if the cummanders will alter his play style next year, because with his body type it may not be sustainable to be running the ball that much. He also has a nice arm already, so there is no real reason to be running him that much since he's far more developed as a passer than hurts/lamar were at this point of their careers.
The Washington training staff should be working with Daniels to get his weight & body mass up
