I think the Cubs will surprise some people. They'll compete since they're playing the Sox and they'll make it a closely contested series. I'm looking forward to it.

Good luck to both teams.

They don't surprise me anymore. :shifty:

Wish we could say you'd be missed.

 Im sure I will be missed by some of the quality fans here though, ya know the ones who arent homers.

In a perfect world, every Cub fan would be like Rick or Firstimer. i wish there was more fans like them, than I could have descent discussions with more than just 2 people.

This is the second straight year that I have absolutely zero interest in the crosstown series...

It has lost its flavor since the sox won the WS.

No matter what the records are every single year, the fans with the crappier record think they are better than the team with the better record if they win the series. Both sides do that, and what is funny about it, it is the only series where their opinions go off like that. The whitesox swept boston in boston, does that make the whitesox better? nope. the cubs take 3 of 4 from the brewers, are the cubs better? nope. It is just a pointless series that get way over hyped. Id rather play the tigers or indians right now and try to chip away at the division instead of this circus show that we call the crosstown classic. It isnt even a rivalry. so ***.

Sox take 2 of 3. All 3 pitching match ups are very interesting and very close.

Lollers. Because I'm a homer, and Poods is a homer, and CO is a homer, and there's not a single Sox homer on this board.

Learn the difference between an optimist and a homer, Dewey. I know the Cubs suck, I'm optimistic and hopeful for the future. Which is why we care about Vitters and Jackson and all the prospects that probably won't pan out, but we want to because we have nothing else to be excited for. That is not being a homer.

Being a homer is arguing that no matter what Fonzie is a great defensive LF or that James Russel is the greatest relief pitcher in baseball history.

So, I'm not sure if your dog died, or you have an ingrown toenail, or why you're being the biggest queen at the party, but you've taken everything anyone has ever said, ever as a personal assault against you.

Get over yourself.

Favorite Sox vs. Cubs memory

Mine is

Getting free tickets behind home plate on the by the Sox dugout, sitting in the first row, in the first seat. Was right next to the action.

Saw Paulie blast a home run. It was awesome. Of course the Sox won the game. I think it was in 2004.

I was also at the game when Jose Valentine hit the game winning home run.

In that first game, I got to heckle Sammy Sosa, and Moises Alouser (that's what I called him the whole game)

It was awesome. What's yours?

I agree with DewsSox about something it appears. The bolded part explains my feelings exactly if you swapped out Indians or Tigers with Cardinals or Reds.

Full Disclaimer, I hate the Cubs. Hate them with a passion.

Both teams blow this year, at least the Cubs have the massive injuries as reasons for being bad (still might be bad if healthy, but we won't ever know).

Now with that said, the Cubs couldn't come at a more perfect time for the White Sox. Right now the White Sox aren't good enough (mostly a lack of confidence and fundamentals) to beat our AL Rivals. And for some reason, almost every single year we have a winning record against the NL. So while this series is just the Cubs, it's the inter league play that matters for the White Sox. They should continue to do what they do best and that is beat NL teams and hopefully gain enough confidence to play well against their AL foes and get back in the race.

Sox take 2 of 3 including the Peavy game Wednesday.

It's like 1984 and I make my first bet with the neighbor that the Sox would win. He never paid me. It started a string of me being a delinquent gambler.

This is honestly the only thing that comes to mind. Mostly because I'm pretty sure the Sox have won the series for as long as I can actually remember. Besides '07 and '08, but I think the Sox also swept the Cubs in '08 as well.
