omfg...flowers you dont know the game....go back behind the plate
Camp is 3.53 ERA right now, and DeJesus still has one of the highest OBP amongst leadoff men. The strategy they took for this year was trying to win the lottery. You don't tend to win on too many of those lottery ticket.
Theo took the best deal he thought he could get for a setup guy. Relievers aren't worth a ton no matter how good they are.
Problem is the Cubs really didnt get any so called prospects for Marshall. They got a 25 y/o SP and a 25 y/o OF.. The 3rd guy is a midget 2B. Theo went for the win in Marshall deal thinking he got a 4th or 5th SP, 4th OF and a spec that might turn into something. So your thinking way off there
Nice catch by CHW CF there.
Thank you CHW 3B
Disagree...there was a reason those players like wood were traded by cincy...they are bad...we made the trade to fill meaningless low level positions on a team at the bottom of the league
We were never in it to win that deal..we were in it to fill out a bad roster

:clap:The fact is that no matter how awesome Sean Marshall is, he is still just a relief pitcher and that means the value coming back will be low. Considering what the Cubs got back I'm still happy with the trade.

I guess to me if you trade one of the top LH RP in the game you dont go for lottery. you go for high potential specs. Not 25 y/o SP that might be 5th SP or 25 y/o OF who is a 4th OF or AAAA.
Bryan LaHair reverting back to why he was in the minors for so long.

I think that just awfull way of thinking. Marshall just wasnt a medicore RP. He was a top 3 LH RP in the game. With how bad this team was going to be they should have gotten 2-3 minor leaguers with high potential. Not 25 y/o SP that ceiling was 4th-5th SP material, 4th OF. They could have filled out the MLB roster by signing guys to MLD.
