Sorry I don't care, that's a cheap slide by Holliday. When do you see a baserunner slid like that? You don't.

Why STL fighting for 1st place while Cubs 2nd worse record in baseball. there players actually play fundamental baseball. Not dirty slide. He was trying to extend inning which he did.

Nah, he went out of his way of the base path to get to Castro to disrupt the throw to first. That's not fundamental the way I learned it.

Agreed. If he slid, then it's not a dirty play but he didn't, which makes it dirty.

As long as he can reach bag then its legal. I thought he clearly could reach bag. Did he intenially go after Castro? yes so he couldnt make thow to end inning. Now look at the inning. Thats what GOOD teams do.

If slides like that are what you have to do to be a winner, count me out. That's a dirty slide. There's no argument that it's not.

i disagree. He could reach bag so its legal. Umpire and announcers think it was a clean slide. Only Cub and Cub fans didnt like it. So thats how many more runs since that slide happen?

Even if I wasn't a Cub fan, I would say it was illegal. And I think it was.

Are you watching same thing as i am? He slid. yes it was away from bag but he could reach to bag which is legal. Again hard aggressive baseball just helped STL score 6 more runs this inning. That was a HUGE momentem changer.

Just because it's legal doesn't mean it isn't dirty. It's also debatable that he could've reached the bag. Looked like a stretch to me and only because he has a big wingspan. The announcers are two of the dumbest guys in sports broadcasting. They don't have any credibility. Joe Buck is a tool. :lmao:

I'm pretty sure most baseball fans don't like the slide. Like I said, if the intent is to take out the opposing player, it's dirty. There's no case for argument on that.

@BruceMiles2112
Bruce Miles Line is clearly visible in infield dirt where Holliday slid past the bag and took out #Cubs Castro.

This makes 3 guys that think it was fine
