I read your doom and gloom posts in every game thread. So far the Cubs have scratched their way a bit over .500. I'm not banking on any pitcher, but 789 isn't much worse than any other team's 789.
My doom and gloom ? Lol

Doubt you find many teams if any that besides the pitcher spot, youll find a .179 hitter ( Ross ) and .217 hitte (Herrera )
at bottom of order..

I dont recall my original post saying anything doom and gloom about the season. . I simply stated that i wouldn't expect much offensively today with that bottom of order..top of order will need to get some big hits to score. .

Don't forget your comments included Lake, too. So really you think there are only 5 people who have the ability to do something. Ross? Yeah. He's frustrating. The rest will take care of itself. Herrera may not have much of a stick, but he is pretty quick. That always pressures a defense, even if he gets a walk. The Marlins offense could always have a breakout game, but as someone stated earlier, the 5-1 lead seemed insurmountable.

I didn't say anything about Lake in original post, you brought him up about hitting ball hard..
I simply said you cant count on a bench guy who hit a few balls hard to generate offense but i also said i had no problem with 1 thru 6 in order, which includes him..

Don't know why your getting so defensive with my original statement, you dont need to be a scholar to see that tonight 7-9, 99.9% chance wont generate much offense..

Any legit threat tonight will come from top of order

Right. That's how you mentioned Lake playing due to Soler's ankle and the offense being challenged this evening. the top being being the threat isn't part of the discussion.

MLB network announcers are brutal.

First play by Castro. He got Dee by a good half step and the announcer acted like he almost botched the play. lol

Lmao. . Your joking with that right...

So, responding to CSF comment and telling him why bryant in LF tonight and who else is in lineup, showing maddon went RH heavy. ..

Lead you to believe when i said 7-9 will be basically automatic outs and they will be offensively challenged tonight, that i was singling out lake too....

Ok......

You can't depend on bench players. They hit grounders right back to the pitcher. You should know this.

I figured it was...

That bad hitter got 3 meatballs to swing at after a 3 -0 count with 2 outs and pitcher up next. .

Took first, fouled off 2nd, and then got one in gap..

Russell missed a meatball there. Cubs get 2 still. Lets get some more and make this an easy game.

Herrera sucks! I bet Bryant makes that play at third!

Damn.. never seems to fail.. get 2 big outs, then seems like they relax too much and give up a big hit...

Gotta get the bats going, cant lose to a team they should be beating handily

Horrible. Lead off double and nothing. I wish Russell did Wesley Snipes push ups for that pop up.

Team needs to find ways to produce runs without Rizzo and Bryant being involved ..

Bet majority of runs produced has either of them on base or driving them in...

Way to go Coughlan. Swing for the fences with a ball in your eyes. Lets see how many of those you win!
