Yeah I am glad I went with a movie for the kid tonight. Honestly, the only thing that is upsetting is Maholm not pitching well. If he could have kept his ERA down around 4 they probably could have flipped his friendly deal for a decent prospect or two.

Maholm is a lefty that can be a league average starter. For what the Cubs are paying him that is fine. If he could have pitched closer to what he did last season there was a chance to swap him for something of value. Nothing amazing, but signing guys on short term deals and flipping for specs is just one way to help rebuild the system. Unfortunately he isn't pitching at that level.
