Big deal. I saw all those things plus:

-I saw Willie Mays live before he turned into a broken down hack

-Ate a Ron Santo pizza and survived

-Watched my friend Taco pee into the sink at Wrigley

-Paid $1.75 for what is now a box seat behind the opponents dugout

-Brought food from Franksville outside the stadium and bring it inside without getting thrown out

-Saw all three Alou brothers play for the Pirates in one game

I call bullshit. You said you never saw Taco again. Lying brings on a trip to California.

If someone with no idea who Andre Dawson is finds happiness watching the Cubs in 2016, so be it.

Why should that affect me?

If someone calls cub fans fair weather, why should that affect me?

If someone thinks a fan is fair weather because they don't spend their entertainment dollars at the park when the team is not entertaining, so be it.

Personally, i have followed through thin and thinner. But I am not blaming people for not buying bad entertainment.

I wouldn't say someone is not a movie buff if they stay away from Police Academy XII.

A few things....

Nearly everyone had to pee in the sink at one time or another back then as half the time all the toilets were backed up.

Ever see Mays in his prime misjudge a fly ball and get picked off 2B in the same game? The fly ball extended an inning and a Williams HR tied the game. The pick was with the bags juiced and no outs in the 10th, next guy hit into a double play. Cub's closer (McDaniel) homers to win it.

For ball park food...I thought Santo's Pizza was pretty good.

Best part of your post....Franksville. The best foot long dogs...EVER. Haven't thought about that place in years. I never had a problem bringing them in the park along with a Coke.

I remember watching Clemente stand on the warning track and one bounce throws to the plate (because 1 bounce is the proper way to throw to home plate). There was no going first to third on him. Greatest arm in the history of MLB

Yep, an absolute cannon and super accurate. He also possessed a lot of power that not many people knew of. I saw him hit one of the longest HRs I've ever seen. It left Wrigley and onto Waveland just to the left of the scoreboard. It had to be a 500 footer. Wind was blowing out....but still a monster blast.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears...in...rain.

Clemente's power was mainly to RF and hit tons of HRs there

A big part of this was that Clemente and many other National league hitters hit off their front foot so you needed really fast wrists like Aaron and Banks to pull the ball. American league players were virtually all back foot hitters. A prime example is Mantle, whose back knee often touched the ground

Please -- all this talk about Clemente is nothing. I've seen JHey jack 18-foot pop ups to short with ease.

Please make it a permanent trip. I prefer JJ over Poopypants, if it matters.

I love when Cubs fans take over stadiums. It's cool to see cubs fans happy, ehhh even the ones that didn't suffer through the bad years.

On the other hand. Wrigley Field is a destination for a lot visiting fans and it's especially noticeable against the Cards and AL teams. It's annoying to be on that side of it lol

Everyone here is celebrating the Division and you are acting the asshole. FU psycho
No, poopyface. Everyone isn't celebrating something that doesn't matter as to winning the WS. A WC can win the WS. Let's get HFA and win a post-season series at least.

Chalk me up to jumping on the bandwagon! I was a Cubs fan in the early 80's but living poor as dirt in the country didn't afford us any luxury of driving up to Chicago or even catching many games on our 3 channel having tv. As time went on I fell off the wagon because I found football more enjoyable and easier to follow while in the military. Baseball became boring to me unless I was playing it. Sure I got excited in the early 2000's and watched all of the playoffs in 2003. I called myself a Cubs fan but I didn't track how they did except for occasional read on ESPN or the Trib's website. 7 years ago I met my wife, a die hard Cards fan and former college softball pitcher. I was forced to start watching baseball again. Her parents moved to St. Louis, and I've attended 4 games there even though we live 900+ miles away. It got me back into following the Cubbies again mostly because I wasn't going to let her turn my house into a Cardinals house lol. I've been following them more and more ever since and this year was the first time I attended a game at Wriggly. (My lil sis only lives 7 blocks away from there now so it just made too much sense.) I look at my relationship with the Cubbies like I do old friends... I don't see them everyday but when I do, we pick up right where we left off.
