I'm happy to be a bandwagon fan this go around. In the mid-90s I had season tickets for a few seasons and used to be a fan that could tell you any stat at any given moment. Then I came to a logical conclusion. I was sick of supporting bad ownership. So I stopped caring and watching sometime around 2007 or so. Between the steroid thing, the forever urine smell at Wrigley, the Tribune, and flat out falling asleep watching 140 games. It's just ridiculous. You would be surprised at how much I know about baseball without being active here.
The REAL fans need this run, need this jumpstart over the last few seasons. Being a die-hard fan through a rough patch is one thing, but the Cubs have faced more than a rough patch. So much so, they have a nickname. The lovable losers. Now that is the definition of bad! I sympathize with all the fans that shared the same logical conclusion, that when ownership autopilots the team for decades, boycott their ass and hope enough people do the same. Just don't be stupid to pass up the historic bandwagon.
