Who the **** is that idiot? Playoff team? Mismanagement of what bullpen? They didn't have one from what I saw. This guy sounds like the racist that got banned.

I will say that Ferris does have a big time arm from the clips I saw....teach him some off speed stuff to go with it and you may have something.

We'll have to wait and see on the guys they got. Not expecting a whole lot but was not the least bit interested in acquiring Chapman's 150 Ks.

He acts like Jed sent Horton over. I would not call Ferris a generational talent. Steele would be a great end game for him but Prior is smoking crack

Horton is the best pure prospect that has come up sense Woody and Prior. Cease is up there also. Horton has true ace make up and should be on the staff this year.

CF is done. PCA and Tauchman will be handling that

They aren’t bringing Belli back IMO, and that’s a good thing

They still need to find a 3B

I don't know about that. That shoe is going to drop.

I get the hate on Chapman but I see it as the Cubs strongest aspect is Defense. That is why Steele and Stroman had great years when they were not gassed and banged up. This is why ATM Mad is the 3B as he performed far better as a 3B than expected.

TBH if he was a .350 OBA and put up 15 HR per this would be a closed matter. But we are talking about a slap hitter that doesn't walk. D is solid.

So if they don't sign Chapman/Bellingerand go status Quo then I believe that Jed is banking on PCA and Shaw. This year will be a push. Get a decent draft slot and get Horton/Shaw and PCA up to the majors.

But if they are competing this year then you don't start a 4th OF or a UI and expect miracles

I'm expecting

Hoerner 2B
Happ LF
Suzuki RF
Bellinger CF
Swanson SS
Morel DH
Bosch/Wisdom 1B
Chapman 3B
Gomes C

When PCA is ready (injury normally decides on this) then Morel goes into 6th man giving days off. Bosch and Wisdom shift to DH and Bellinger moves to 1B

Thinking it over I would want a 2 with a option on Chapman. Shaw is not a sure thing and will need 18 months to finish up plus changing position.

So 2/30 with a 20M mutual option is not going to kill the Cubs

Cody I would want 8/200 to lock him down. He is the type of player that you lock down. I see him as Rizzo on and off the field. You have to pay for it.

Coomer was on the score today and said he still in contact with Belli and he says a deal will be done with the Cubs soon.

I hope that Tom green lights going over tax. It is not a red flag as tax has not been broken for a while.

Say Bellinger/Chapman and Hader. Gets payroll up to 250-260M. Pushes Alzolay to the 8th.

On paper the Cubs take the NLC and anything can happen in the playoffs. Normally the hot team wins and having Morel giving days off and having Brown and Horton to give a late season push it could make into a interesting year

Once again.....**** millions to Chapman.....almost as stupid as $20 mill to Candy. You don't need a Gold Glove at 3B. Any half decent glove will suffice. I'd rather plug in Madrigal than pay big bucks for 150 Ks a year....all Chapman is, is a better fielding Wisdom.

Really?

2023 Chapman 110 wRC+ AND 3.5 fWAR. 5.7!Def which is a slight degrade.

This was looked as a down year for him

Wisdom best year 2021 117 wRC+ 2.3 fWAR. Def was at a 3.1. after it took a nose dive into dislike value.

Now your D argument is idiot speak. If that was the case Morel would have been there floundering away vs DH

Thank God idiots don't make decisions

And if you still think D at 3B doesn't matter to Jed. When Patrick dropped into dislike D value he lost 3B.

So aim not sure where it came from but most likely a bias opinion from a typical Cubs fan with their head in the toilet.

And Mad...when he hits over 100 wRC+ then he will matter. Last time he did that was the Sox.

So that makes him a UI at best because O kinda matters and 3B is a premium position

Is that saying on a plaque in your kitchen or just something your wife says to you? Regardless, it's good to see you finally owning up
to all the dumb shit you've come up with over the years. The useless lineups, the ridiculous trades, the awful assessment of talent.....it's gotta be embarrassing for someone who thinks they know what they're talking about. Faking knowledge can be difficult. The OCD on the numbers thing still needs some work...but keep at it, you'll get there.

remember mike olt? this has that vibe all over it, former high draft pick that at one time was considered untouchable but then fell apart and then was traded to the cubs.

he will be out of the league in another year
your baseball talent eval is as bad as as your football eval, which I find hard to believe

Yay! You managed to find the 1 incorrect thing I’ve said in the cubs forum in the last handful of years basically.

And instead of just being happy, you’re coming at me with some weak attempt at a got ya moment as if I’m not stoked by the way the kid is playing

Also, it’s been 1/9th of the season so far. I don’t hope it happens, but teams could figure him out and he struggles a large portion of the season, but man…you got me!

Yeah man, it's a long season.

For anyone to act like they knew Busch was gonna pop from jump street is bullshit.

I didn't even know who the guy was...

Ditto. I first heard of him from the youtube from the Smokies broadcaster. He is pretty up on prospect talent as he calls games at that level. So he did call this trade a while back and was raving about him. So it seems like he was correct in his opinion.

One thing that I like about him is he is athletic at 1B vs a pole. He has made some quality D plays at first and it feels like he will transition into the position smoothly. Morel is another story. When he is hitting 3B is a adventure. Once he got 3B stablized his hitting went cold.

So I would not hang my hat on Morel. Shaw at Tenn: .293/.463/.561 3 HR. I think that we can start keeping a eye on the transactions from May to June to see if he gets pushed to Iowa. At that point he would be in the same boat as Caissie. Neither are on the 40 and both should be in the mix in 2025. But poor performance or injury could up their timelines.
