MuskatTyler Colvin better dust off his first baseman's glove. Cubs manager Mike Quade said Sunday he will have Colvin get some work in there this spring. Right now, Jeff Baker is the only backup first baseman on the depth chart.
Colvin will be getting time at 1B as expected.

Only time i see him playing 1B would be cause of a double switch. If Pena healthy he will play 158-160 games.
Maybe (obviously) i have missed it, but i thought that issue was dead? When i read that earlier today on the Tribune web site, i just couldn't believe it. I thought the case of moving Colvin to first was dead, even though i assumed they'd play him at first here and there in ST just for the plate appearances and experience at first, but i figured it that they would do that mainly in case of emergency. However, this sounds like they want to play him there to see exactly what they have. I just feel it was weird timing to say that on the first day.
Silva already not healthy. Had to leave today with a 103 degree temperature.

I'm saying he could be sick because he's out of shape again. I mean, I know he's out of shape because it's been mention. But it's not the right step in the right direction.
He's got a fever. He'll be ok.
