It's a rumor that started with Bruce Levine saying they will pursue him, I believe
He's brutal defensively. Power numbers way down but still can hit for average. If they want a DH and a 911 first base replacement....that might work short term. He'll be 36 before ST kicks in.

Yeah I don't love the age, but if it's like a 2 year deal to DH and help Mervis and the young team I am fine. Get Abreu, Correa and a TOR starter

Not a bad plan.

Say it costs the Cubs 40M next year between Correa and Abreu. That puts payroll at 148M Then extend Happ/Hoerner (20M) then arb/farm/benefits (26M) 194M CB tax is at 232M in 23. So they could target another big name player with that. Say the White Sox want to trade out some players for quality farm players and 2 controlled players.

Cubs send out Thompson, Madrigal, Alzolay and Canario {Maybe Alacantara}
Sox return with Giolito and Moncada.

This puts the team at:

Happ LF
Davis CF
Suzuki RF
Moncada 3B
Correa SS
Hoerner 2B
Mervis 1B
Gomes C
Abreu DH

Giolito
Stroman
Steele
Hendricks
Wesneski

After that they invest into pen arms. Target Edwin Diaz

Well looking at that. That might surpass the Cards in division. With LAD losing talent again this might be a ripe time to strike.

Bit strong there bud.

Lucas has proven to go out and pitch 30 games every year. 9.47 SO/9 and 3.39 BB/9. 4.33 ERA 4.26 FIP. Not his fault that the Sox sucked lemons.

Moncada has put up 13.6 fWAR in 2740 PA. Age is 28. So in his prime.

So basically you are looking at a down year where the whole team took a nose dive. Well that falls on a manager vs the players.

These are 2 quality players in their prime and will most likely bounce back regardless of where they are. Their career numbers support this to be fact.

I'd say you are half right. My guess is that Giolito is closer to the guy he was two years ago than the guy we saw last year plus he eats innings. Sox won't be trading him. You can shove the WAR bullshit on Moncada. The guy strikes out nearly as much as Wisdom with half the power numbers. Ask any White Sox fan what they think of him....they'd give his ass away if they could.

Career 29.2%. walk rate 10.2%

Wisdom 37.4%. and 9.2 respectively

So not accurate.

Slg: career.
Moc: .425
Wis: .426

We get wrapped up in the sexy HR that all of the short comings get glossed over. They have the same power score.

I'm pretty sure that a change of scenery would do both guys wonders. Wisdom is a one trick pony.

Even then the go over was not a major haul for the Sox. Alzolay injury and most likely a set up. Thompson best guy sent. Has upside. Mag. Injury case and send him back. Canerio right now profiles as Wisdom does. RH power with SO issues.

So not breaking the bank. Moncadia was a high profile prospect. So that means talent. The key is getting him to unlock it and be more stable.

Happ had the same issues. This year he pushed 4 fWAR. So something went right in the current environment on the north side. Nothing really is not justifing another guy breaking out in the same environment

Moncada just screams of long term covid issues that would derail his career. I don't want Giolito, as he would be a 5th starter on this team and what we need is an ace.

Rodon, Turner and Bogaerts.....if not Rodon, then Anderson. If they can reel in two of those guys, not only will they move up the ladder but given the weakness of the division....darest I say contend?

I would pass on Verlander, DeGrom, Bassitt, Eovaldi, Kershaw amd Manea.....if the price is right, maybe take a flyer on Thor hoping his FB returns.

Re-sign Willy.

Really, that is your beef. Good to know COVID has a homing device built in now.

I likely said garbage. Maybe I was a bit hyperbolic, but I strongly disagree he's GG caliber.

They also have Juan Soto as a finalist and he’s not a good fielder. And last nights game showed it

Watching him play, you wouldn't think so.....but, you catch most everything that comes your way and make a handful of plays you probably shouldn't and you're in the running. He's been in the .990's now for two years out there in left....so he's been pretty good.

It's all about the goofy stats.....observations don't mean a thing anymore. I mean stats are @CSF77's life.

Good to know that you assume to know squat about me. But I will beg to differ.

Eye test is based off the viewer and his/her opinion and agenda.

Stats are driven by factual data. Even MLB has gone to 'stat cast' vs eye ball test cast.

But keep assuming that you know squat about baseball.
