Castro to Yankees for RHP Adam Warren and a player to be named.

The idea is probably for Warren to be a starter, correct?

Zobrist and a long reliever for more money over Castro is a tough pill to swallow right now

to me we have taken one small step forward with Lackey and two steps backward with this move. Damn we were there, we could complete this team with FA and we were totally outplayed in this market window, Lackey+Warren+Zobrist-Castro is not that much of an improvement if we can call it an improvement..

I think they are in love this idea of being flexible for a long season. It might help in a long season. I don't know if it helps in a 5/7/7 game series.

I wasn't pining for Zobrist, but we essentially got a guy who is very good at the things our young guys are not. And he is the Anti-Castro. Smart, heads up ballplayer who makes the right plays.

Warren as long relief? I would be surprised. He started 17 games last year. They need a starter.

A young, cost controlled starter with a good ERA and a huge upgrade at 2nd? What is not to like?

Looks like most here severely overrated Castro's value

They needed a CF not a 2b. So they have gotten older, tied up money, lost draft resources, and still have the same glaring need they had when the off season started. There were a lot of pitchers available for money. I would rather they traded castro or Baez for a CF and signed to FA pitchers.

Are you people nuts?

We added two starters, and improved the position where Castro played, and lost no other prospects in the process.

Is Warren as good as Shelby Miller? Probably not. But we still have Soler. And Baez.

Yeah Rodgers saying that the Cubs plan to use Warren in the pen, and also as a spot starter, and in long relief. Don't the Cubs already have a bunch of those types?

Cahill, Wood, and Richard are going to do what exactly?

Warren is basically Shelby Miller stats wise for Castro instead of Soler or Baez. It's a solid move.

Two FA pitchers?

They're getting $31 million!

Got older? How abut got smarter? Got better at OBP? And OPS.

And Baez is younger than Castro.

They got toughness, smarts, playoff experience.

i am disapointed because theese two starters are not at all elite, i think that we need one elite starter to do that final step

It'll be interesting to see what happens in Spring Training.
