I think Theo needs to DL Descalso so Maddon will quit starting him. Descalso really doesn’t need to be starting ever. Definitely not multiple times per week. He is a pinch hitter and that’s it. Lastella didn’t get this kind of treatment as if he needed at bats. Theo made the move to send down Happ and save Maddon from running him out there 5 times a week, time to do something similar with Descalso.

From my stool the Cubs will be the on fire at times for the remainder of the season with the division being up for grabs the last week. The question for me is will they be the same team as they were last season going into the playoffs?

The announcers were talking the other day about how close the division is despite how wildly divergent the team's run differentials are. The Cubs are like +60 but still not too far above .500 and the Pirates are like -70 and still not out of it. I guess anything can happen but yeah I agree it could easily come down to the last week. The Dodgers look better than any NLC team right now but I guess that could change too.
