I
Mean the guy isn’t very clutch and plays with no emotion and I do believe he is way overrated but don’t really want to see him traded unless it’s a straight up all star for all star trade like I seen awhile back for Mookie Betts. I was saying 3 years ago that I would rather have Arrenado

The cub offense often goes as Bryant goes.

Wish we a more consistent team, but there's always tomorrow.

Well he was 3
For 5 tonight and we scored 3, it seems like we aren’t hitting as a team, it’s only one guy shows up each game. Contreras here lately, Baez fairly recently, KB tonight, Rizz been awhile it seems. Wish all these guys would get on the same page for a month like the Braves lineup has been in June. Pretty sure and I would hope that Theo has seen enough of this pathetic offense with runners in scoring position from last September and so far this season to be making some changes here soon

Who’s pitching for Atlanta? Had said TBD for a few days
A guy with an ERA over 7 just went an inning and a third for the save, pitched out of a jam in the 8th and went 1,2, 3 in the 9th after falling behind in the count on all 3.... that’s how it’s going lately

You know you're struggling when you get more singles (7 v 4), have a triple compared to a double, hit the same number of HR (2), have more walks (4 v 2), have less Ks (10 v 5) and still lose.

True and we had 4 hits to their 3 last night in the loss. One thing I want to say coming up with another road trip is that these themed road trips need to stop, we have had a 1-5 and 2-5 road trip since they started those themed trips back up again. This team needs to get serious and play with more passion and stop this thinking that they will just cruise through the regular season and make the playoffs.
I wonder if Theo is getting tired of the themed
Road trips from Maddon that end up with a terrible record and that we
Don’t see
Joe back next year

Make this another game where Darvish gave up more runs (5) than he stranded base runners (2)

Last 3 starts
6 base runners allowed - 4 ER
3 base runners allowed - 1 ER
6 base runners allowed - 4 ER

Total over 4 starts
22 base runners allowed - 14 earned runners scored

Obviously his propensity to give up HRs this year is big reason why but even still, that's crazy.

I just wonder what the **** the Cubs pitching guys are talking to him and Q about. Both guys had sustained success in harder ballparks/leagues to pitch in with no obvious signs of eroding skills and both guys have been so far away from the cost to acquire them that it makes you question YOUR team more than it makes me question the players. Yet at the same time this is happening, you acquired Cole Hamels on the cheap and turned around an aging veteran who had shown signs of eroded skills and now he's pitching closer to his prime levels than he had. Maybe for him just leaving the AL was enough.

IDK About that. I've seen Contreras and Baez carry the team more.
It just clicks when Rizzo and Bryant are hitting. Baez and Contrares dont care about anyone else making the team click, they do what they do.
Yesterday had Contrares catching like he was catching a guy he knew did not want to throw the ball to him. Basically, Hamels, Q and Yu want the catcher to stay quiet, hold up the glove, dont move once they start their windup. Contrares moves to his yoga stance where he cannot get in the proper position to block balls in the dirt.
Yes, yu has been pitching to the same result with Caratini, probably a little better with Davis.
Too bad the time has passed to let one of these guys throw to Schwarber and let Willson play left field.

Reality bites doesn't it?

Guess we make a note of this for the next time you type three posts in a row on how bad Contrares is at pitch framing.

When is it time that Epstein realizes this team is done being a serious contender and he blows it all up? no one is untouchable besides Baez. And how fucking stupid does he feel signing Darvish?
No way this team should be blown up. The core is still good enough for another championship run with a few more moves. They could still make a run this year if they play their best ball every day and not every third or fourth day.

From my stool the Cubs will be the on fire at times for the remainder of the season with the division being up for grabs the last week. The question for me is will they be the same team as they were last season going into the playoffs?
