What's rather shocking is his k totals. He's thrown 4 games and put up 9 k's twice, 8 k's once and a 2 k performance vs the Yanks.

Guess the hunting trips with Cliff Lee are paying off in the off season.

Cubs win! I would rather Travis Wood be third in a rotation over being the top guy but Cubs dont have that so dont matter.

I like Hammel also.

Shark: 1.29 ERA 1.07 WHIP
Hammel 3.05 ERA 0.73 WHIP
Wood 2.52 ERA WHIP should have dropped a tick from 1.39.

By the numbers Hammel and Wood have been similar. Shark has upped his game by leaps and bounds.

Once Arreta promotes then things should start to take shape.

Perhaps they could take Jackson and Villanueva with them next time...

ya we wont go there....

I still think they should promote Wada and Arrieta together. Can Vil and push Jax to the pen. 2nd pitcher to go would be Parker. Wada has been putting up strong numbers so far at Iowa.

Given the Cubs fortune it'd be Wood that gets shot

Well Cashner would know about that stuff.

Think he had a hunting accident.

I realize Bonifacio's gotta have a day off some time but I'm not sure how I feel about it being in a pretty winnable game. Least Hammel is pitching well so far.

Nice work by Schierholtz driving Valbuena in. Hopefully they can get at least one more this inning.

This is why Olt should play everyday. He is going to K and he isnt going to hit for high average but he brings big pop and walking ability.

I still think the lineups come primarily from Theo and Hoyer and their computer. I find it highly unlikely that two coach would platoon almost the exact same way.

I'm hoping Valbuena is earning himself more time at 2B.

I can see that for guys like Schierholtz Valbuena, guys that been around and struggled.. but for olt and lake we have very little history to know if they can be everyday players or not.
So, if their forcing the manager hands on this, they need to back off
